From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Heather, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. Even without an appointment, she went above and beyond to make sure we could be seen. The smiles never stopped from start to finish. The office was spotless and very well maintained. Dr. Carpenter was just as amazing--he answered every question thoroughly and made the entire visit extremely comfortable. I highly recommend The Eye Doctors!!!!

Dr. Nelson, Dean & Nicky are fantastic. They're friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. The customer service is top notch. The shop is also gorgeous and they have a great eyewear selection. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I have gone to the Eye Doctors for years, seeing Dr. Carpenter. He is great. However, the front office and billing company is the worst I've experienced at a professional place. I had a follow up question and have called and left messages with absolutely no response. It may be time to change to a different office despite the great care I receive from the doctor.

The Manhattan, Ks. staff is by far the friendliest I have experienced in a while. Doctor Sally Irwin was very thorough and caring. She listened with great concern and compassion. A "big" thank you to staff and doctors.

I would give no stars, if it was available. I made an appointment with a specific doctor, two or three months prior to my appointment, which was to be on October 13th. When they gave me that date, I stated that it was red on the calendar, again asking, are you going to be open. They said they were, and I said are you sure, as it's red on the calendar. The lady assured me they were going to be open. With that done, since I live about an hour and 30 minutes from there, I always try to double up doctor's appointments, so I made another appointment for the same day. On Saturday, just before noon when they close, they called and said they needed to change my appointment for Monday, as they were going to close early. I said well that works out, because I have a morning appointment. No, that wasn't going to work, I had to change my appointment, and I couldn't get in to see the doctor I wanted ,until sometime in January, so I made an appointment with another doctor, whoever was available. No matter who I make an appointment with, I always end up seeing a different doctor. I have certainly made the rounds. So a very nice lady helped me after the exam, to pick out glasses, which were buy one, get one free. She picked out two very nice pair for me, as I hate picking out glasses, and they gave me the amounts, and I chose which color of photo gray/brown that I wanted. So at this point I have driven a total of 6 hours. I got a text message that my glasses were in. It said in the message that if you ordered more than one pair to call to make sure they were both there, which I did. Only one was there. I was told they would be done by the end of the week so Thursday I called and they came back and said the glasses were there, I asked if both pairs were there and the person went back and checked, came back to the phone and said yes, both were there. I made the trip down, just to get the glasses, another 3-hour trip, only one pair of glasses was there, and it did not have the photo gray. I was told when you get one free, they're just plain glasses The lady that helped with the glasses did not know that and didn't mention it nor did they manager. Kind of strange as I need that in my glasses, but no one told me this, or explained that to me, so if I return them, they had a large restocking fee or I can send them back and pay $150, which they finally agreed to $100, so they had to be sent back. In the meantime I find out that the other frame is discontinued, and so they would bring one from Topeka, the first of the next week, and the lenses were already made, so I was good to go. Well I wish! Now I will have to make at least one more trip and hopefully the glasses will be there, but I'm not counting strongly on it. I don't believe that I mentioned, that I'm severely disabled and every trip is very difficult for me, which will now make 4 trips, which will make 12 hours of driving. If someone had told me this story, I would not have believed it, but I have certainly lived it. The doctors all seem very nice, as do the receptionist, Jenn, that helped me was very nice and I think Eric the manager seemed like he cared, but I have worn glasses for 65 years, and never, ever have had problems getting my glasses. It has been unbelievable and very stressful, which I am supposed to be avoiding, so thank you eye doctors for adding stress, that really should not have been anything like this. Now I wait to see how much longer I have to wait. I ordered on October 20 th, so the week to a week and a half, has now made it to two weeks, and another trip, to dread.

While my eye doctor herself was fine, I was utterly frustrated by efforts to address billing questions. One example: my insurance covers "refraction" if performed at the same time as an eye exam. However I was billed the full amount. When I called to discuss this with billing I was directed to an off site operator (after a long wait) who could not explain why this happened. I could only speak to the office directly by saying I wanted to make an appointment. When I clarified that I had a billing question I was put on a long hold then 3 people later told that it was not covered because it was billed as a "medical" not vision expense. Because I had paid my bill at the time of service I am out of pocket for this expense.

Great! Eye care is getting better. Korey was awesome in helping me get the right pair of new glasses. Very friendly and answered all my questions.

The Dr. was so professional. She was very good with my mother. Realized what was needed to communicate with her. She gave us print out of the information she had went over on moms visit. Mom needed new glasses and the specialist was very friendly and made mom feel comfortible getting what she wanted
