VERY pleased with the surgery on my left eye this month...Everything went well, now for glasses... I had my right eye done back in 2014! SAME thing, Great people... BUT Had a incident that didn't have anything to do with this office. Shawn Menke took care of me and got me back on track! I went to Family Eye Care of Topeka, 1107 SW Gage Blvd... I walked in, and got my glasses ordered, without an issue. Thanks Shawn, appreciate your time and concern. I tried to find my earlier remarks/ review... but couldn't find it... sorry...

Dr. Gentsler performed cataract surgeries on my 87 years old mother, my 66 years old husband and me. All surgeries were brilliantly done, we all got our clear vision back. In my case, I decided to go for lifestyle lenses which gave me perfect vision that I never had before being extremly nearsighted. We are profoundly thankful to Dr. Gentsler and her team!

Dr. Genstler performed my custom blade free lasik in April 2008. My allergies were just causing my contacts to be a nuisance and a hassle. So this surgery was something I really was excited about. During the months following I could see without wearing glasses/contacts but my vision still wasn't what I would call completely clear. Dr. Genstler said that would improve but she said according to my exam I was seeing 20/15. I was thrilled! I was diligent about taking care of my eyes and following her directions for aftercare. I went beyond what was ask and threw away all my eye makeup to purchase new and didn't even wear makeup for 1 full month. Fast forward 3 yrs, I knew my vision wasn't as good as it was initially and when I went to renew my driver's license, the lady had me look in the little machine to test my vision. When she stated I should see an eye doctor because I needed glasses, I was so disappointed. I made an appointment with Dr Genstler and she was unconcerned about it, she smiled saying I could get a touch up lasik for $900. per eye, or maybe I was diabetic. I was shocked at her careless attitude. Why she would think I was diabetic at 5'7, 145 lbs is beyond my comprehension. I'm healthy and look healthy, although I realize that's not always an accurate assessment of health. I immediately made an appointment with my physician to have a complete physical and blood work. He said he would bet I didn't have diabetes and was surprised she'd make that assumption. Thankfully my results were of good health. So it's been 8 yrs since my lasik surgery and 5 yrs of back to wearing glasses and contacts. I wanted to write this review as I have had several friends bring up wanting to have lasik and asking around about surgeons who perform this procedure. I tell everyone my experience and who my doctor was. I'm sure this is successful for many people but it didn't work for me. My current eye doctor wears contact lens himself and doesn't really recommend the lasik. He says he has many patients that have had failed lasik procedures and are back to wearing glasses. I wasted $4,200.00. I would have been satisfied if it would have lasted at least 10 yrs. I wouldn't recommend this procedure and I wouldn't recommend Dr. Genstler at all.

This gifted doctor took care of both my parents in Manhattan ks, Louis and Bridget Guzzo.... now I am blessed to have her check my eyes and help me before they get worse.She has great skills and love for her gift of sight she gives.BLESS HER AND I PRAY HER HANDS ARE GUIDED FOR ME ALSO.THANK YOU DEAR ARLA.
