Cincinnati Eye Institute

My wife had a cataract removed yesterday at the Edgewood location of the Cincinnati Eye Surgery Center. Dr Chu was her surgeon and did an excellent job. Everything was done with excellence. The Surgery Center is a "state of the art" center and practically new. The staff was excellent. Check in was easily completed and the waiting area is really nice. They even have a fireplace. The electronic boards tell you the stage the patient is in and the staff is very knowledgeable. My wife said the surgery procedure and Dr. Chu was also excellent. We are going back today to the office behind the center for a follow with Dr. Chu to check everything out. Overall, we are very satisfied with everything so far. Thank you!

Very nice place to drive to. The entrance has wheelchair accessibility that is ADA compliant. People can get in and out quite easily and elderly people seem to be doing fairly well when they come out of this place. I saw the front entrance and it's quite clean. I enjoyed coming here

First off this office has been a nightmare since day 1 of my first appointment. They have the longest wait times ever for a patient. Then they sent me to the wrong specialist and at the last minute called me and said oh sorry this doctor was retiring. I was then set up with a new doctor named Dr. Fildebrandt who promised to have a surgeon call me and could answer all my surgery questions. They of course never did. Then they called and I kid you not asked me to take pictures of my eye at my own house so they could figure out the right specialist. I finally get paired with Dr. Holland who is supposed to be this great specialist. He barely talked to me as a patient and my first appointment involved a ton of annoying residents who couldn't answer any questions I asked them. These students took up my whole appointment. So basically I paid 50 dollars so residents could study me like a freak show. It was honestly very humiliating and I was never told in advance that these other doctors would be there. Every time I had a question regarding my eye surgery none of his office clerks could answer my questions or they transferred me to the wrong person. I started taking Humira a very expensive medicine and so I had a question regarding taking the medicine before surgery. Instead of Dr. Holland being a doctor who was concerned, never bothered to get back with me at all. He had an assistant leave me an extremely confusing voicemail regarding the cancellation of my surgery. At this point I have already paid and I feel like they cancelled my surgery because he couldn't be bothered with questions. No doctor should act like this towards a patient.

Poor, incompetent office billing system and poor customer service at the sign in desk. Appointment scheduled 6 months in advance. Constant appointment reminders, emails, texts, only to arrive the day of and being told that my appointment would have to be rescheduled due to a billing issue with my insurance company. I've already used that insurance company with CEI 2 times this year. The people at the reception desk were clueless and very incompetent. Tried to blame me, and then the Drs accreditation. Very disappointed in being treated this way.

Worst office ever. Their office clerks can't answer any medical questions/never call you back. Their doctors will just ignore you and none of their staff has any empathy. If you really care about your health and want to get good genuine eye care go somewhere else and don't waste your time with their 2-3 hour wait. Just because this office claims to have the best surgeons doesn't mean you get personal attention and the doctors are available for questioning. I am so glad I switched to another office, my doctor is super personal and well accomplished. I feel seen and heard, with Cincinnati Edgewood it is very much just the feeling of being a number and they try to rush you out of your appointment so they can see the next person. The surgeon who was supposed to do my surgery is known to be the best eye doctor between Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and the the diagnosis he gave me was 100 wrong and not even close to the actual problem my eye was experiencing. This was even after his staff and him took pictures, he only spent 5 minutes in my appointment after I paid 50 dollars as a patient. Seriously I can't stress enough not to go to this office.

They are very friendly and they keep you informed on what they are doing and answers any questions you have.They made me very comfortable before during and after my surgery.

Paid thousands extra for the "premium" cataract lens so that I would have great close-up and distance vision and avoid the need for reading glasses. Didn't work!. Distance is fine but the close and medium vision is noticeably worse and now I will need reading glasses.

Giving them a two star I'm being generous. I had to see new doctor because dr. Sisk moved to Blue Ash. I was okay until they put me in the last exam room. there I sit for an hour no one came in to check on me so I stepped out in the hallway and ask the nurse if they forgot about me she said I would be next. 15 minutes went by open the door and met two elderly ladies who were upset because they've been waiting so long when the nurse seen that there was three patients in the hallway upset over the waiting period doctor khoo came. we have to respect their time when we have an appointment and they should respect ours. While sitting and waiting in the exam room I check the reviews and found that there are several complaints like our complaints. I will not be returning to this location because much improvement is needed here
