Lexington Family Eye Care

I understand the staffing situation and they got back with me as soon as they could today. And, they could also see me for an eye injury look plus annual exam. Entire staff was excellent. Dr. Gilbert was very thorough in explaining eye health and Travis was great with the lens choices for replacements in glasses of my choice. Zac and Sonya(?) we're equally helpful in their areas of the process. Sorry they have the staffing and store coverage issues they're managing through but I enjoyed how they drove through it all.

Since Dr. Lane left and they have been acquired by Pearls Vision, this place has gone completely downhill. Getting through to reception is nearly impossible (I.e. 11 attempts to get through to them after they cancelled an appointment less than 24 hours prior to on me). The doctor is knowledgeable and friendly but even getting to that point requires a minor miracle. I cannot offer a recommendation in any context. Also be mindful of scheduling because they will schedule you outside of your insurance period and only let you know after you've sat in the waiting room for an hour.

I'm not sure why there's so many poor reviews. Dr. Ashley Lane is an amazing optometrist and took her time with me at every visit. Her time and effort is much appreciated considering I had issues that previous DO's didn't recognize. I referred my sister out to her, and she loves her as well. I've been going here for over 3 years and have left happy each time.

I have seen a decent amount of eye doctors. I typically feel I am not heard, or that my needs/wants do not matter. I got nervous when I heard talk of retiring within the office! Thank Goodness Dr. Shewan is not yet retiring. He is my favorite of all time. I have dry eyes and have had bad experiences with contacts in the past. He was very patient as I tried on contacts again and again. He is amazing and caters to your every eye-care need! They truly DUE specialize in hard to fit contacts. Not going anywhere else any time soon.

Appointment was quick and very thorough! Used to go here when they were called Lexington Family Eyecare. Heard that they went "downhill" after they got all new people and that was NOT my experience at all. Everyone was super nice and answered any questions i had! Will be always coming back when i need to

Please do NOT go here. I urge you to find any other eye doctor in Lexington. I had to go back 5 times for them to finally fix my prescription and set my lenses properly so I could actually see. In the 2 months it took to correct their several mistakes, I was treated like a problem they did not want to deal with. They up-charge for VERY cheaply made glasses. I spent 300 dollars and 5 visits trying to fix a pair of glasses that I cannot even wear now. I have never had this much trouble from any other doctor. I have never left a bad review for an establishment before, but I don't want anyone else to go through the amount of trouble I did.

This is one of the best experience at an eye dr I have had. Dr. Lane was so nice. Took her time and was very thorough. Her staff was very nice. Would recommend them to anyone!!

The staff here is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I had the best eye appointment here ever (and I've had contacts since I was 5) and will not go anywhere else again!
