Do not recommend this establishment. I saw Dr Ricca, who was rushed, impolite and not very professional or kind..spoke with a very sassy and sarcastic tone, did not seem to want to help or even be at his place of work. He's a doctor with an advantageous lifestyle..much more abundant than the vast majority of the patients he sees on the daily. To be able to put on a professional persona for even a few minutes should be tolerable. I don't expect doctors to be jovial every moment of the day, but respectful and professional should be something to strive for. I waited for an hour to be seen, only to be given 2 mins of actual time with the provider, who couldn't wait to get out of there, it seemed. The entire assistant staff also left much to be desired..they were cold and didn't even try to create an illusion they cared about their jobs...just zombies going through the motions. This entire establishment has lost any heartbeat it may have once had. I'm sorry if I seem upset, but this was a poor experience that has compelled me to write a review..not that I anticipate or assume it will make a difference. There are plenty of practices and doctors who do care, so don't waste your time and money here. My recommendation is find someplace better...because you deserve better.

I was taking my mother here and like some others here I gave them a few chances. I wish I hadn't. Their tech Anthony kicked off the fun by telling my 85 year old mom that "it could be worse" when she said the injection hurt. And yes it did get worse. We saw Dr Shirkey who runs in and jabs you in the eye like she's late for her 5k. And another doctor with a little bow tie and demeanor of a 3rd grade music teacher who quips, "that's why I'm telling you!" when we asked about the current condition of the macular degeneration after a few injections. But were you telling me? Since I was asking a question that I didn't know the answer to. I luckily got her into a new doctor and called to get her medical records sent over but was told I had to be power of attorney, even though I handle all of her appointments. But that's ok, we will get them and this place will be a bad memory. If you care about your loved ones, don't take them here! They are big, not good. You get herded from room to room like cattle and treated like trash.

I met with Dr.Sharkey and all I can say is she did NOT listen to a dang word I said. She was dismissive of my concerns and wanted to inform me of what I was there to see her for, which was not what I was there for. If I could leave no star I would. I will never recommend this place or her and will be contacting my referring doctor to tell them of this experience and my PCP. This woman was rude, dismissive and would not listen.

I was referred here and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. From beginning to end as soon as I left the waiting room I wasn't treated like a human. I was given no information about what was being done or why, even when I tried asking. Every person I saw was rude and brisk, moving me through my visit like I was a number. I was manhandled the entire time. They held my eyes open and pushed my head around without giving instruction or asking if they could touch me and they would get frustrated at me when I naturally flinched. The lights are on full brightness everywhere on the 4th floor even though your eyes are numb and dilated. Dr. Busquets was very forceful and used his ungloved hands to touch my face and eye. When his nails were pushing up against my eye and I moved he treated me like it was my fault for moving and that I was too sensitive. I felt like a procedure was forced on me the same day as my first exam there, without any clear information as to what was happening and why. When I flagged that I was in pain during the procedure and I was crying, I was ignored and my head was forced down repeatedly. I don't understand how anyone could continue to go here if they're treating every patient the way they treated me. I've been to retina specialists elsewhere and it was nowhere near this horrifying.

My daughter was referred here and the receptionist was very rude over the phone that I called and had the referral sent elsewhere because if they allow their receptionist to be rude to new patients that say a lot about how they are. She said her manager was standing there as well over trying to tell them how I can pay without insurance for my daughter. She very rudely said well we don't accept that so you will need to refer her elsewhere, her tone was very argumentative for no reason. I was trying to explain to her that I have a spending card that pays for the visit and I only need a receipt of services provided. There was no need for the attitude I received from her.

I had the WORST experience today, starting with Coutney, who did the OCT scan and did not bother to confirm the DOB and assumed that I was the patient to get the images taken. I asked her if she needed to verify my DOB and she rudely said, "Oh, I know it was you, so that's why I didn't ask." I do not even know this staff personally. How could she nonchalantly assume I was the right patient, with a waiting room full of other patients? Such gross incompetence and negligence. Then, the scheduler Kendra acted with such a bad attitude, was unprofessional, and arrogant the whole time getting me scheduled. How can she be the front desk person with that unwelcoming and unpleasant demeanor? Whatever happened to all the courteous and professional staff this office used to have? This practice is going downhill by hiring incompetent, unqualified, and unprofessional people. The management needs to be aware of this very poor practice standard!

They took great care of my eye injury, but I NEVER get seen at my appointment time; even early morning. 7:50 appt, @ 8:50 still waiting. Why do doctors think patient's time isn't important. Update: 6 months later same exact situation. 7:50 appt. It's now 9:00, no doctor. I was the 1st appt. The lights weren't even on when I got here.

My husband had a very bad experience with Dr. Busquets. First of all, I had a question about a procedure that he was getting ready to do on my husband. He acted like he got offended because I had a question. He has very bad bedside manner. This was the second (and last visit there). Both times he was in a hurry. He did not explain what he was doing. His assistant put knumbing eye drops in my husband's eyes before the procedure, but my husband still felt the needle in his eye, and said it burned. Dr Busquets said he "couldn't feel it" and "it doesn't hurt". Pain in subjective, Dr. Busquets doesn't know my husband's, or anyone else's pain !! My husband flinched when the needle went in his eye. It's an automatic response. Dr. Busquets said nobody will "thrash at his staff"!!!! My husband DID NOT thrash at his staff !! And, let's talk about infection. The only thing that he did educate on was infection. But I did not see him or his assistant wash their hands, and neither one had gloves on while placing eye drops or during the procedure. The best way to prevent infection, is HANDWASHING. I give them a 0 out of 5 stars !!
