Visionworks Doctors of Optometry

The doctor was very friendly and great to work with. He saw both my daughter and me, and the whole visit felt easy and comfortable. The staff was also very patient while helping my daughter learn how to use contacts for the first time, which we really appreciated. Our appointments were quick and efficient, and the glasses selection was great--my son and I were both able to find nice frames at a very reasonable price.

Well first off I want to say that I love my eye doctor Bilal Ahmad and this review is no reflection on him. I have been seeing him for years and he's a great eye doctor. This review is based on my experience at Visionworks today, February 18, 2006. I had my vision exam one week ago, and at that time, I purchased some colored contacts with my insurance and was told that I could come back next week and use the rest of my insurance money to purchase the rest of my contacts after I gotten paid. So today I went in to pick up the color contacts and to order a 90 day supply of my clear daily contacts. When the girl pulled up my account, I Reminded her that she had told me that I could use my leftover insurance money for this order and I should've had about $50. She couldn't find it on the insurance page so another girl stepped in and said "oh no, if you don't use all of the insurance allotment right away you lose it". So this was the case for me. I already only am allotted $180 for contacts for a single year and of course I wanted to use that $50 to order my contacts at Visionworks. So instead, I had to go home and purchase contacts online which actually ended up being cheaper anyway. I'm extremely disappointed in the fact that I wasn't told that if I didn't use my insurance allotment, I wouldn't be able to use it at a later date, I was actually told the exact opposite that I absolutely would be able to use it when I came back to order the contacts and that I just needed to let whoever I was ordering know that I had leftover insurance money. Then nothing was done to try to help me out any further or to make up for this mistake. So in the future, it might be wise to just order contacts and use your allotted money from your insurance there, but I wouldn't order anything extra from Visionworks because you can actually find contacts that are cheaper online. It saved me $130 for my three month supply of dailies with one eye having an astigmatism.

Tried to drop off my wife's new glasses to be repaired to the Nicholasville road location. The left lens at the top corner is cracked where the frame tightens around the lens. It's very evident that the lens was not the correct size for the frames by the way the crack has formed. It is certainly a manufacturers defect as the glasses have not been dropped, scratched or otherwise abused in the handful of times she's worn them. She typically wears contacts and the cracked lens was not noticed until recently and the crack seems to get bigger with temperature fluctuations. The manager claims they won't replace the lens because a warranty was not purchased. The glasses were picked up on September 9th (92 days ago). I only mention that because I was told they have a 100 day satisfaction guarantee, but it sure doesn't seem to be honored in this particular case.

Customer service was wonderful. The girl that helped us and explained our options was very informative. The timeframe of getting our eye wear was awesome. Never been able to order and receive glasses in the same day although I'm sure it's rare but pretty awesome that we had that available since we do live a good distance from Lexington. Everyone we came in contact with was awesome. We appreciate doing business with you all. And most definitely will be back for our next visit. Thank you!

Dr. Love and his staff were amazing! I had so much anxiety going in for my exam (14yrs was my last one) but they made it me feel at ease. I felt they were honest and didn't try to "force" something on me. I was able to get my glasses made in just a few hours. I've already recommended to friend who has scheduled a visit in the next few weeks! Thanks Visionworks Team! You are the best!!!!

Been coming here for 15 years, in person staff has always been kind and attentive, but the phone service falls short. I've switched over to partially filling orders for contacts over the phone over the past few years and time and time again I've been put on hold for 15+ minutes, which I'm normally quite patient with since I get things happen, but today I was put on hold for 15min before the call dialed out. So I follow up and get serviced up to them reviewing my account, and subsequently get put on hold for 45 minutes before the receiver hung up. On my last call, I was transferred to another line in the same office and placed my order within a 5min call with the sweetest young lady, to which I explained my previous call too. I don't mean to dissuade anyone from coming here cause their in person staff is great at their jobs, but I wouldn't recommend calling unless your willing to put up with loss of time and getting hung up on.

I've been to several vision centers. I have never been completely impressed with anyone place as I was with vision works on Nicholasville road. I highly recommend the vision works as preferred place to get eye exam they also have a good selection of glasses as well. Everyone there worked as a team but also did their jobs very well. I want to thank each employee for making me feel I made a good choice

Friendly and professional. From the moment you enter the facility and everybody is friendly and trying to help. They listen to the needs of the patient or the client. The answer questions and do not use pushy sales techniques. I strongly recommend.
