Conrad Eye Center

The staff there was lovely and accommodating. Dr. Conrad, however, was extremely rude and dismissive. While explaining what happened to my eye, he seemed to imply I was lying about how my eye had been injured. He said he remembered the story from the ER when they called him and said it was very unlikely for my cat to scratch my eyes and this to occur. Whenever I would react to him touching my eye, he would tell me that it shouldn't hurt when he touched my eye. I would recommend going to any other ophthalmologist in Louisville. Extremely unprofessional and apathetic for someone who's supposed to care for people.

We had a horrible experience with Dr. Conrad. I went to see Dr. Conrad for an eye exam and to get an updated prescription for my eyeglasses. There were long waits between "tests". A person in training did some of the tests which made me a little nervous. Dr. Conrad finally came in but never actually looked me in the eye. He looked at both eyes through a device and told me I had a very serious eye condition that needed surgery immediately. He began to explain the procedure and I asked for my husband to be able to come back to hear the information. He was oddly very reluctant to allow him to but eventually caved in when I insisted. Dr. Conrad pulled up a test result for one eye showing I had something called Narrow Angle Glaucoma. He failed to throughly explain what the picture of my eye represented. When I asked questions he rudely responded that he had not reached that point yet and for me to listen.He never looked me in the eyes when he spoke to explain things to me, nor did he acknowledge my husband. In fact, he seemed quite irritated. He never showed us the results from the other eye, stating that the pictures he showed me were of the worst eye. But we needed to schedule surgery asap (like the next day) and he'd operate on the eye that wasn't as bad. first. Thank God it was late in the day and surgery couldn't be scheduled for the next day (we'd have to go to Indiana for the surgery). We came home and immediately began searching for a second opinion. My best friend knew someone who had actually had eye surgery that Dr. Conrad performed and her eyes were actually made worse. Our family doctor got me an emergency visit with Bennett and Bloom. They did 11 tests (as opposed to the 3 tests Conrad did ... and they determined not only did I have Narrow Angle Glaucoma, but also really bad cataracts. Dr. Conrad made absolutely no mention of cataracts during my visit there. Our new eye doctor explained that if he had done the surgery he was planning on doing, my eyes could have been damaged more than they were and I'd end up being a high risk for other procedures in the future. Fast forward about 6 weeks. I've had two eye surgeries where they removed the cataracts which made room for each eye to properly drain which totally took care of the glaucoma problem. I now have 20'25 vision in both eyes and no longer need to wear glasses. We were so glad we followed our initial "gut instinct" and jumped ship on Dr. Conrad, especially after doing a little research. On another note, his office staff was very nice.

My experience was great at Conrad Eye Center! Kayla and Julie, at the front desk, have wonderful smiles and made check in and check out a breeze. Rachel, Dr. Conrad's assistant and technician, made the tests less stressful for me. Dr. Conrad was very professional and I was relieved to know that my eye pressure was fine and everything else was very good. I've been going to Conrad Eye Center for years and highly recommend them!

My family and I have been patients of Dr Conrad for many years. He and his staff have always given us wonderful care. Everyone here is so friendly. I can't imagine going anywhere else. You folks are the best!!!

Good place to get your eyes cked get in get out get onwith your life very nice people.

I was a patient of Conrad Eye Centers while my husband and I lived in Louisville for several years for school. I loved the care and attention I received as their patient. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and there is a wide selection of frames to choose from. I recommended this practice to all those in my school community!

3 stars for poor customer service, poor communication, and prolonged wait time for glasses and contacts. I am a long time patient here and have been very disappointed with my last two visits. I have waited a prolonged amount of time for glasses and contacts the previous two visits. My exam was in late January/early February and I still am not in possession of my contacts or glasses, most of which have been paid for. Furthermore there has been little to no communication about what is happening. I've called five times in the last week and left three voicemails requesting my prescription info to order them online. Someone from the office finally called me back to let me know my glasses were ready and my contacts would be in the office by noon that day and they would call me later in the afternoon to let me know they arrived so I could pick them up. That was four days ago, I have called again, left another voicemail and still heard nothing. Not only that, when they finally called me last week they did not even acknowledge that I have been waiting three months. No apology or explanation until I asked what was happening. They explained they had staff turnover, were training new people, and had prolonged shipment times. I am perfectly understanding of all those things and it would've been no problem had someone actually communicated that to me. Dr. Conrad is great but customer service is awful. It seems my order has been forgotten two visits in a row now. Very disappointed.

Don't bother unless you have NO OTHER OPTION. I brought my dad here and there was no attention from the staff. Dr. Conrad himself is very rude. We waited FOREVER for really nothing. My dad fell asleep in the exam chair because we basically sat there to Dr. Conrad's typing.
