East End Eye Care

I used to go to a national chain eye care place, but it felt like going to a fast food drive thru where they are just trying to get you done and move on to the next person. Dr Kerns has always taken his time to explain everything and go out of his way to answer any of my questions. The front desk staff is very friendly and cheerful.

My first visit to this practice in 2021 was great. The doctor was friendly and knowledgeable. He worked very hard to help me get the best discount when I needed to order a year's supply of contacts. However, my second visit this past August was not. The doctor was still great but the admin staff is extremely lacking in knowledge and customer service. I had to fill out my medical history again even though I was an established patient. It should have been on file from my previous visit. Complete waste of time. Additionally, the admin staff "forgot" to charge me for my annual eye exam and harassed me for payment a month after my appointment. Finally, the admin staff was completely incompetent when it came to ordering my contacts. They told me they had placed my order for contacts when in actuality they had not. To make it even worse, they then refused to take accountability for their mistake. As a customer, it is an extreme turn off when a business can not admit they did something wrong and provide a resolution for it. Hopefully they can hire better admin staff in future because this treatment is unacceptable and will turn patients away...

Must say that as difficult my vision problems are, Dr kerns found the best solution. His prescription has turned to be more helpful than any I have had in years. Very grateful patient.

Dr. Andrew Kerns is a great optometrist. I never feel rushed during my appointments and he genuinely wants what is best for the patient. I drive across town to see him for my annual eye exam. When you are experiencing eye pain, it feels like an emergency and you want an optometrist who you trust. I was experiencing issues in my right eye and after exhausting my primary care doctor I got an appointment the next working day. Dr. Kerns solved my issues and I was feeling better that same day.

I usually don't leave reviews and this is my first review. I had the best eye care experience in my life! It's a family owned business. They're very transparent, doesn't give pressure to spend money on things you don't need to, and very kind doctor. Would highly highly HIGHLY recommend this place if you're looking for a new eye care doctor! I'll be supporting them from now on!

New to Louisville and had to find a new eye doctor. East End provides excellent service. Dr. Kerns took his time and explained every step of the exam and his recommendations for my eye care needs. Picking out glasses was stress free and the selection was great. Appreciate this office and East End Eye Care will be the designated place for our eye needs ongoing.

Great practice. Very knowledge and friendly staff. I never feel rushed. They genuinely care about you and providing the best service possible. I would highly recommend them!
