The staff at this clinic is very kind, especially the Spanish-speaking girl named Elizabeth. Thanks to her, I felt much better at the end of my appointment. However, I truly believe the clinic should consider hiring more bilingual staff or at least having a translator representative available on the phone.
There are many languages in the world, not only English, and healthcare services should reflect that diversity. When you pay for a service, it's only fair that you can fully understand what is being explained to you. Otherwise, the system feels outdated and inaccessible.
Hiring bilingual personnel or offering computer assistance in multiple languages would be a great improvement. And if you already have someone who speaks Spanish, please consider allowing them to help as interpreters when needed. That would be a huge plus for your clinic.
Dr. Menon is my doctor who is very knowledgeable and detailed, give easy to understand explanation. Highly recommend if anyone is looking for an eye doctor.
I really did not like the check in process. You have to face a machine to typing your name, date of birth, and scan your own drivers license and the insurance card. Totally lack of Human interaction. Feel cold!
Originally, on Jan 5th, 2026, they told me that my glasses were on backorder till end of the February. But I got my glasses today Jan 21. It was within expected acceptable time frame. I am happy about their service.
My family and I have been here several times and it has always been a positive experience. But our recent annual appointment was a bit off. A couple of the ladies at the front desk were just all over the place, meaning like they couldn't find our appointments scrabbling for 10-15 mins till they did. Granted one employee said she was new , but she was trying to have my minor son sign papers which I corrected her. Then telling me I owe a payment when my insurance already covered everything. Also when we was leaving I tried to book our next year annual I kid you not it took them 20 mins to do so, putting in the wrong birthdays on wrong days to a point I was like I will just call and make a appointment because they could not get it together. The woman who was teaching the new employee was just as clueless. This apoiment just took way longer than what it could have been. It was like a circus show watching them. Also the eye dr told me a completely different outcome then last year. Like the year prior they told me i need a prescription for glasses which i got, that dr did seem pretty thorough also even gave me eye drop samples. Then the dr I seen this year said I didnt need glasses and everything seemed fine. So just left me a little confused I guess. But with all that said everyone there was more than kind to my family and I which we appreciate very much. Special shout out to one of the technicians I think her name was Gabby, I was a bit annoyed with the difficulties that kept happening with the front desk people. But when she came into the room she was literally like a ray of sunshine lol very sweet and personable. She naturally brung me out of my funk. (She also had no idea about what was going on at the front desk , so it wasn't like she was trying to cheer me up or put on a facade or anything) she was just being her self, seemed very genuine and hardworking. So thank you
Glasses are so much better than what I got at a discount eye center 2 years ago. Worth the extra money! My previous experience did not get the bifocal at the right location and could not use them for reading and distance. They did not spend nearly the time to get it right like KY Eye Center. KY Eye Center spent the extra and get it right. I used this location for my exam the last time but made the right choice to have them make my lenses this time.
KY Eye Care in Shelbyville was wonderful. Everyone was kind, and helpful. They weren't rushed. They answered all my questions, and explained my treatment plan. Highly recommend!
I have been a patient of Dr. Berberich at KY Eye Care at least for ten years or more, and I recommend her and her team to everyone that I know. She is extremely helpful, professional, caring and answers every question and concern. Every staff member that I've met is equally good.
Dr. HURT has been my primary doctor there for a long time. He is super smart, kind, and easy to talk with. However, I met a new doctor in their group, Dr. Laura, and she called me when she said she would. She helped me find a suitable replacement medication (as NO pharmacy in Louisville had the meds I was prescribed).
I would highly recommend either doctor. Both experienced, kind, and great follow up.
The hardest challenge about going here is the 'electronic checking.' You have to register with a machine, not a person. Receptionist is nice, but the waiting room has many angry patients because of the machine. I would recommend eliminating it, frustrated patients cause more headache when people are are already hurting and waiting to see a doctor.
After checking in, was taken back to room shortly after, ran some test & answered questions. Shortly after that Dr. Harmon came in ran some test, give me a good exam. Stated everything was good. All staff & Dr. very nice.
