When I got the surgery I was told I will need to eventually have redone at no cost. That was 5 years ago. I was told a year or so ago I wasn't bad enough to have redone. Just went back and im denied again. I wear reader's again and saw zero value in the $2,000 I spent. Don't waste your money.
Went in at 20/80 with astigmatism, came out with 20/20 within 24 hrs.
I scheduled 2 weeks in advance for work purposes. Had my initial consultation and surgery all in the same day. I followed up the next morning and viola! I was done.
Everything went smoothly, the staff was AMAZING, no pain what so ever. But make sure you use you eye drops after! They're the key!
10/10 Highly recommended!
Great experience from beginning to end! I was able to see clearly for the first time in my life without glasses or contact lenses pretty much right away. They check multiple times for the right prescription for you and adjust your eyes to that prescription. It's amazing technology and was virtually painless. Highly recommend it to anyone who can save up and would like to get rid of their glasses and contacts.
I had a great experience with LVI! The entire staff was friendly and professional. I went in for an in-person consult on a Monday and had my procedure on a Thursday, I was seeing 20/20 by the time of my post op visit on Friday. I was extremely nervous at first, but received constant reassurance from the staff before, during, and after the procedure. The procedure was quick and seamless and I only experienced minor discomfort that eased up once I woke up from the suggested nap. I don't regret my decision at all. GOODBYE glasses and contacts! Thank you so much LVI!
I came across the Lasik Vision Institute after a quick Google search of local Lasik providers. I compared reviews, information, and pricing and decided to go with them for lasik, thanks in part to a quick yet thorough consultation.
Consultation: I was expecting to be there for 2-3 hours but I think the entire process was about an hour, if that. Of course individual times will vary especially due to your own eyes and vision issues. Each step of the consultation was fully explained and I never had questions (I also did a lot of research before on what to expect). I never felt like I was experiencing a sales pitch and definitely did NOT feel pressure to commit to lasik. All the options and pricing were clearly explained. Shortly after the consultation, I decided to have lasik (I went with Contoura) and was able to get an appointment when I preferred (which was within 2 weeks).
Procedure: My experience with the procedure was even better! Do yourself a favor...go to YouTube and watch vlogs about lasik experiences. While providers are all different, the process is generally the same. I felt as prepared as I could even though I was nervous. I didn't have any questions or concerns but everyone did a great job walking me through the process, including Dr.Smith. I don't even think my procedure took 10 minutes! It was exactly as they described. The staff and Dr. Smith were great! They walked through each part and reassured me when I was feeling nervous. The actual procedure is pretty cool. You don't feel any pain and I didn't really feel the pressure sensation they said was common when the flap was cut (with a laser, not a blade by the way). I really appreciated Dr. Smith counting down each step. Thank you for that!
I was in and out of the office within an hour. I never felt like things were rushed. I just think I got lucky as any time I go to another doctor/health provider, I have to wait like a billion years. Just know that my experience may be different so it could be a little longer for others.
Recovery: My recovery has gone great and I have experienced no pain. My eyes were slightly irritated for the first few hours and by that night were fine! I am able to see perfectly for the most part. The vision in my right eye is 20/20 and my left eye is still playing catch-up. I know my eyes are healing and I am realistic that my vision will take time to stabilize. I am able to go about my daily routines without issue.
Overall: With anything else - do your research and ask questions! I firmly believe lasik is a very safe and effective procedure for the majority of people. My vision, while horrible (nearsighted with astigmatism) was stable and I had no other vision issues. You hear people say this was the best money they spent and it's true! Being able to just go to sleep and wake up and not fiddle with contacts and glasses is priceless!!!!!
PS - All the staff I encountered were so kind and friendly. Not the fake friendly either but they are sincerely warm, nice people! That kindness really goes a long way and a special shout out to the wonderful young lady at the desk! Such a pleasure to talk with her each visit!
This whole experience had been truly amazing. The staff is wonderful and friendly, no hard pressure sales pitch. After 37 years of wearing glasses (couldn't get contacts because of my oddly shaped astigmatism) I'm finally glasses free! Would HIGHLY recommend the LASIK Vision Institute.
Really great experience. The office staff was friendly. The nurse who did my initial consultation was thorough in explaining all of the tests she did. The doctor was ready to answer my questions. Tracey explained the costs and my options and gave me time to consider which option without any pressure. I had trouble with my insurance not covering one of my prescriptions and Tracey got me a different prescription quickly. I was pretty nervous going into the procedure. Since I had this done in the midst of the Covid restrictions, my husband could not come into the office with me, but the staff was so reassuring, and the doctor explained everything thoroughly so I knew exactly what to expect. The procedure was over really quickly. I could not believe that I could read the posters across the office as soon as I got off the table! And when I went outside I could read the words on the buildings across the street! My eyes were light sensitive for the first day or so but with sunglasses I was able to drive myself to my followup appointment the very next day. My surgery was about two and a half weeks ago at the time I am writing this review, and I have had no problems with side effects, other than some dry eyes, quickly relieved by eye drops. This is a normal part of recovery. Overall, I am delighted with the results of this surgery and with this office and staff. Very professional, clean, friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you all!
This review is 2 weeks after my surgery. I wanted to wait to give my results a chance to take affect. I was EXTREMELY nervous the entire process but the staff was amazing at making me feel comfortable from the consultation and even through surgery. I was pre-warned about the healing process and any questions or concerns were answered. I couldn't see in the dark or in the rain and walked out with 20/20 vision! Each persons healing process is different but I was nervous about the pain I would feel after surgery (other than runny eyes) the day of surgery, everything has been smooth sailing (NO PAIN AFTER SURGERY FOR ME) just follow the directions given during the healing process and payment plans are available, because I'm a full time student I was nervous I wouldn't be able to afford the cost but they offer financing and payment plans so yeah if your thinking about taking the leap to better vision DO IT! I rarely write reviews but this experience deserves to be told..... THANK YOU!!
