Cheryl Ann had me set up for a great experience from the start. The Dr. was thorough and answered all my questions. Returning to Cheryl Ann, she helped me pick out a very nice pair of glasses and outfit them with all the extras I could want. She then helped me navigate my insurance and what was covered, explaining each step in the process. All very professional.
I've never really had any issues with getting an eye exam or picking out and receiving my glasses. Staff has always been nice and friendly. My only issue is that I needed the vision form completed in order to renew my license. I called on 1/16 and was told that it would take take 72 hours to process. I called back on 1/21 and was told that if the doctor was there it would be completed today and if not, I'd have to wait 72 hours. Didn't like the answer but, really didn't have a choice but, to wait. I called back on 1/27 just to be told it still hasn't been completed because the doctor isn't just at that location but, she would expedite the request and to call back today 1/28 which I did to only be told they're still trying to get a hold of the doctor. Which I responded I literally had 10 days to get this completed and my days are almost up. She responded that she doesn't know who I talked to but, the doctor isn't there and the only thing she could do was see if the other doctor there could complete it but, he may not because they're not suppose to do that. Like what?! I've literally been given the runarounds trying to get this paper completed. Now I'm not going to be able to renew my license online because my 10 business days are up tomorrow. I understand the bad weather we had but, I reached out prior too so that's no excuse. If you're needing your form completed for a renewal I suggest you don't wait because there's no guarantee that you'll get it in time. I'm highly upset because I was due to start my new job but, wasn't able to due to not having my license because I needed this form.
I'm leaving this review because my experience at this Visionworks location was extremely frustrating and raised serious concerns about communication, professionalism, and prescription accuracy.
Before my appointment, I completed the intake forms that were emailed to me and selected that I was coming in for both glasses and contacts. However, there was no clear fee disclosure that a contact lens exam would cost an additional $59. I was not told about that charge at check-in, and it wasn't discussed before the exam. It was as if they never even looked at the forms I filled out at all. I only found out after my eye exam was already completed, which is not okay. Customers should be told about additional fees BEFORE services are provided.
The contact lens portion also did not feel like a real "exam." I was simply handed a pair of contacts and told to put them in. No one observed the fit, checked my vision with the contacts in, or provided any real evaluation or guidance. So what did I even pay for??
I also have concerns about the accuracy of my prescription. It was changed significantly from what I've had previously, and my vision has not been clear since. When I raised this concern during the exam, the response felt dismissive. This has left me uncertain about the accuracy of both my glasses and contact lens prescriptions.
After I filed a complaint, I was told my glasses order would be placed on hold until the prescription issue was resolved. Despite that, the order still moved forward and was marked READY, and I did not receive the promised phone call from store leadership, Angela, within the timeframe I was repeatedly told to expect.
Overall, this experience left me with very little confidence in the exam, the prescription, or the communication process. I'm sharing this so others know to ask very direct questions up front about fees, and to double-check their prescription carefully before allowing glasses/contacts to be finalized.
Mind you, I'm still waiting for that phone call to resolve this matter.
Wednesday February 11th, 2026. Me and my mom went into the store around 4:30. We went in the store and it's not busy whatsoever. We walked to the front desk right at the entrance and we told the workers that we just needed my moms glasses adjusted (an easy fix). They then tell us to go sit in the back and wait and they'll be right with us.
There's 4 other customers already in there besides us - 2 of em was a child and a mother, a woman by herself, and then a gentleman by himself. There's currently 4 workers we see, Not including the workers at the back offices. That's when 10 mins had passed and the gentleman's service is over and he's walked out and it was now 2 of the workers still helping customers and the other two are just on their phones and talking loudly across the room to each other. We're now still sitting and waiting but it's now been 10 minutes and I'm sitting there confused on how no one's came to help us even though there's two women available to do so. Now another 10-15 mins done passed and we have still yet to be Honestly at this point we're questioning did they forget that we were there, sitting in the back where they told us. Next thing we know two men walk in and get helped immediate by the two women who didn't bother to help my mother and I despite having already been waiting on assistance.
The lady's are helping the men and one of the men walk out some time later; already done with his service and we've now came to terms with the fact that they forgot we were there and practically refused us service. We then walked out very slowly and not one person bothered to stop us and apologize for forgetting about us, for not assisting us, nor for the fact that we had been there for a while and never received help. All in all it was a terrible experience and extremely uncouth. Two unruly workers who talk loudly across the room to each other about their outside of work lives, but somehow couldn't assist me and my mom. Our experience was a -10/10, we will never go there again. Management needs to look into possibly hiring new workers with better attitudes and customer service skills.
I went to pick up my glasses on a hunch as I hadn't received a call saying they was ready. I tried them on and the glasses had been severely stretched to the point that adjusting couldn't fix them. The fit was 3 sizes too big and no where near the same as when I tried them on and had picked them out. They was sliding everywhere . Its bad enough that glasses now take 2 weeks to be completed, but to pick up your purchased glasses and have to wait an additional 2 weeks bringing the now total time to a month because of their error is insane. The Dr at the initial visit when I asked had my prescription changed told me you wouldn't understand the numbers if I told you. I've never been told this before from a different company (Americas Best). He acted as if he was too busy to take a moment and explain to me the patient what was going on with MY vision. I had already waited 50 minutes past my appt to even be seen so there was no need to rush. That should've been my first clue that this wasn't going to be a good experience, but I desperately needed new glasses so I brushed it off. If you choose to use Vision Works, a different location would be your best bet.
I have been going to this location since I was a child. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The doctors take the time to explain any vision issue or questions you might have. I will continue to use this location because it's the best one I've been to.
Doctor Franklin took a personal interest in me and made it a priority to ensure my vision was going to be great. Friendly and professional staff, less than ten minutes wait. Highly recommended!
The customer service was phenomenal. A1 service was given everyone treated me with kindness and respect. They thoroughly walked me through each step and direct me to the next. I enjoyed my visit.
