Mooney EyeCare Centre

I've been bringing my daughters for several years. Today was our first visit after the merge of ownership. I was upset over the impatience and unprofessionalism of the lady who did my youngest daughter's imaging. She pushed and held my daughter's head into the machine after stating she wasn't listening. My daughter was trying to be still and only moving slightly while trying to balance on a stool to be tall enough for the machine imaging. Afterwards we went into the room and you can see the indent on her forehead from being pushed against the machine. I made a formal complaint to the actual doctor and was told she'd pass it on to management. Also the cost of imaging has been raised to $50.00 not covered by insurance, and now they don't offer glasses to anyone with passport. You have to get them somewhere else. Overall, it wasn't "that bad" but it wasn't really good either.

Everyone was nice and good with our little Rose. She loved her first eye doctor visit and can't wait to go back again.

My Husband and I had our first visits with Mooney Eye Care today. We were both very impressed with the professional staff and the physician. They took great care to get our annual eye exams completed and then showed my husband the wonderful selection of eye glasses. We definitely highly recommend Mooney Eye Care!

Dr. Young is very thorough and detailed in his examinations. I also sense he truly is advising me with the wisest counsel and care. I never feel rushed or hurried. The staff is always courteous and professional. Great eye care as far as I'm concerned.

Dr. Young and his staff go over and above my expectations in service and expertise. In the past few years, I have had a couple eye emergencies and I could not have asked for a more thorough, knowledgeable and caring doctor during each of them. I highly recommend them!!!

The entire staff was friendly, cheerful, and competent. Dr Young was engaging, interested in his patients, and exceedingly capable. The experience immediately inspired confidence in the practice.

This review won't really matter much since there are so many positive reviews from years before (when they were bowersox and actually a reputable place) but I visited "Mooney eye care" previously "bowersox"and won't be back. I have vision insurance and was charged $60 for an eye exam. They offer no alternative to their $50 package and then charge the eye exam fee on top of that. Had I known that , I would've went somewhere else because there is no reason for a simple eye exam to be $60 when one has insurance. Previously they were under bowersox and my family has went to them for years with no issue and none of this $50 package BS. There is a reason insurance doesn't cover it , because it's unnecessary. Lesson learned and no one in my family will return. We have the luxury of going out of Shelbyville for eye care needs in the future - I feel sorry for those who don't and stick with this joke of a place now!

Outstanding Service they provided to me. Everybody was highly knowledgeable in their area of expertise. Everyone had a smile and polite. Just an outstanding place for your next eye examination.
