Dr Smith's Eye Care

I absolutely love it here. Been coming with my children at least a decade. I don't mind the wait... which is no different than a doctor appointment wait. My prescription is always on point and the staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. From contacts to color rx lenses for my frames, I've been nothing but satisfied. My children are now adults and continue to come here and my granddaughter is the newest patient from my family. Did I mention they're opened on Saturdays! And accept medicaid for both children and adults or private insurance. And love the fact that I can bring my own frames and they were able to make my prescription in Color Tinted Lenses to fit the frames! I make sure I use my insurance every year! So yes I have several pairs of prescription glasses in different color tint.

So I recently renewed my insurance and it apparently wasn't showing in the system. However, I had a copy of all of my info and the new effective date. My appointment was at 11 am which I showed up for at 10:50. I took off work for this appointment and burned a sick day. They told me I would have to reschedule. My point is, why didn't they call me before I showed up and let me know this. I could have called the insurance company and handled what needed to be handled. Better yet, seeing that I had a brand new card with a brand new effective date, they could have had their "billing department" verify for themselves. So now, I'll have to burn another sick day to schedule another appointment. Very unprofessional. No common sense. Not very friendly and also apparently lazy. DO YOUR JOB.

My daughter, who is 4, was brought there to see Dr. Smith because she was having severe eye pain. When he walked in and my little girl Is crying from pain he immediately started mocking her and crying along and when confronted said "oh I thought we were having a competition" very rude and unprofessional do not go to this guy.

I love Dr. Smith eye care. I've been going annually for about 4 years now. Both Drs. Have great bed side manners. The staff is incredibly, and they are so accommodating. I came in with my toddler to pick out glasses. My toddler was becoming cranky, and I was still being picky, Mrs. Smith went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me! She bought the glasses to me, simply amazing customer service. Even though there were multiple other customers (who she still helped). 100% recommend.

I went to Dr Smith's Eye Care on March 5th for the very First time and the doctor are calm and sweet it does not take long for u to get called to the back about 10-15 min to get called to the back and after they dilate your eyes they will give u like some little glasses to block the light from your eyes but it's been like 1 week and some days but I hope I get my glasses on time and they will tell u that it's will take like 2 weeks for them to get delivered I would recommend this being your eye doctor.these are my glasses.

I've been using Dr. Smith's Eye Care for several years and have always been satisified. Recently, after I had already left the appointment, the receptionist came out to my car to tell me that they had figured out how to get my daughter's eyeglasses covered under insurance. This saved me $156. I am very pleased with the service. Dr. Smith was very kind also and recommended some vitamins that may help prevent macular degeneration for my husband, who is at an increased risk of this disease.

Dr. Smith is my optometrist but today I accompanied my younger sister (Latasha). Excellent experience. Clean, modern office and they're always extremely professional. I strongly recommend.

*long post* First, I am a returning patient of Dr. Smith's eye care. I called a couple of weeks ago to schedule my yearly exam and the lady who answered took my insurance info, checked my benefits, and scheduled my appointment. So the day of the visit, I checked in, waited in the lobby for 35-40 min (even though I was 10min early for appt.), and when I was finally seen, I was told my benefits won't be effective until next month and that basically this appointment was in vain. Then when I expressed my concerns about why this wasn't brought up during my initial scheduling, the lady acted uninterested and blamed "the new girl". This place just seems disorganized and unprofessional. Will never go back!
