Eye Medical Center Hennessy Blvd

It was my first time at this office and I was there for an annual eye exam. The atmosphere was chaotic and unorganized. Before I scheduled the appointment, I called the office and my insurance to verify coverage of the exam. During the check-in process, I presented my insurance cards, then 'suddenly' there was confusion about whether my exam would be covered or not. I felt rushed through my appointment. I was the last patient (of the day) for a tech and it felt like she hurried through the exam so she could leave, but the doctor was pleasant. During check-out, they tried to collect the amount for the exam. I explained I had spoken to someone prior to my appointment and informed them I had 2 insurances (which was also give to the check-in clerk) and they need to bill them. Ive been to other eye centers (privately owned, chain and hospital). My expectations arent high- just be friendly, considerate and honest and you will get the same from me.

Took 2 hours to be seen even tho I had an appointment. The visit was incredibly rushed and it definitely felt like they did not care at all. They spoke to me without even looking at me and constantly interrupted me when I was explaining my symptoms as if they had no time for me at all. I can't believe I waited that long in the waiting room to then be seen for 5-10 minutes at most. Mind you it was a very important visit that was urgently scheduled for me by my PCP because of some scary eye symptoms and yet I left feeling like I had no more real answers than I had before I even went in.

Been 10 years since Dr. Pearce fixed my eyes. Have been back yet. He's definitely the best and highly recommend him. Thanks for letting me see.

I Have called 4 days in a row to make an appointment. Each time I have been anywhere from caller number 20-30. After being on hold for 40 minutes they have only made their way through 4 callers. As someone who has a job, this has made it impossible for me to schedule an appointment. If this issue is not rectified I will be finding a new clinic who takes patient relations and communications seriously.

Showed up today for my scheduled appointment at 1:20pm. I was told I didn't have an appointment scheduled. I asked if it was possible that my appointment was scheduled for a different day. I was told I had no future appointment scheduled or one scheduled for that day. I am so disappointed in the lack of organization at EMC. It was already hard enough to get the appointment scheduled. I waited multiple times on the phone to finally get through after 25 minuets. How does such a large practice not have the ability for patients to schedule online? Or more individuals to answer the phone. I see others have had issues with getting through as well. As much as I have enjoyed Dr. Abbott being my eye doctor for many years, I am going to have to go elsewhere due to how this clinic is managed and run. They tried to reschedule me in the office for a different day. How is that acceptable when I already took off work, drove 30 min, and waited in line to check in only to be turned around?? Two hours of my day wasted!. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because I really liked Dr. Abbott as my Doctor.

I give up! It's impossible to get through the automated system to schedule an appointment. Called twice, held nearly 30 minutes each time, never got closer than #5 in line. Would have used their portal, but human interaction required for set up. I have a full time job and unable to sit on hold all day. Have been going here for years, but will seek new providers.

Easily one of the most unprofessional establishments I have ever walked in to. For starters, during my appointment in August of 2023, the contact lens department took out my contacts and disposed of them as I was to be fitted for new ones at the appointment. Come to find out they do not even have my prescription in stock, meaning I had no vision. I had to leave my car at the building and have a relative pick me up and take me home last minute. Second, I called medical records to get my most recent prescription and they sent me a random prescription from 2018. When I went to call back and ask for my exam results from 2023, I was told that I was not able to get them and to hold on the line for one of the doctor's medical staff. To which no one answered and I tried 3 times. I left a voicemail before 3:30 and my call has still not been returned. The nurses that work in this place have the most sorority stricken attitude I have ever witnessed, and that is coming from a sorority girl. I truly pray for the folk that walk through this department's doors as life seems to get overwhelmingly hard after you have entered. The biggest part to that, is that it doesn't have to be. It is the employees and doctors who make this place so painstakingly annoying.
