If I could give 0 stars I definitely would. Whoever the receptionist is should get trained over because she's rude. Why are you not taking patients at 4pm knowing most kids get out of school between 3pm-3:30pm? Not to mention traffic. The clinic closes at 5pm. Please if you don't want to be open just don't open at all.
I have never been to a doctor's office with the most rude and unprofessional office staff in my life. We were patients of Dr. Pamela before she left and when I heard that she had left I thought the experience would have been the same, NOT She left and the office staff must have left with her! This new staff is very unorganized and all over the place the have patients appointments mixed up and need to get a better system! This is no reflection on the Dr. but his staff will run off all of his patients. Especially when you can hear them taking about you! The only reason I didn't address them was because my children were present with me but this experience was awful. I am going to get my records sent to another specialist!!!!
Haven't seen the doc and will be looking into other specialists. Receptionist on the phone made me feel stupid as her condescending tone was uncalled for. I have one child and definitely haven't had her go to any eye specialists yet. I do not know the process of scheduling and all I am trying to do is get my daughter help for her eyes. I do not want my kid being treated the way I felt on the phone. I had to hold my tongue big time
I brought my very nervous 6 yr old daughter to see Dr. Le. The ladies at the front desk and nurse were very nice. Dr. Le was so attentive, thorough and pleasant.
I brought my son in for his annual eye exam with Dr. Le and couldn't have been more pleased with her care. She's a wonderful blend of playful and professional--my son felt comfortable and cared for throughout. Her nurse was also very kind, and most of the staff were welcoming.
Unfortunately, our experience with Office Manager Debbie was frustrating. Debbie, despite her long tenure, seemed unfamiliar with basic insurance procedures. She incorrectly stated that our insurance would only cover 20% and demanded an upfront payment, even after I showed documentation proving 100% coverage. She was rude during the entire interaction and resistant to letting the insurance process before billing me.
After paying, our insurance confirmed there was no co-pay, and I had to follow up repeatedly with emails and calls for a refund. Each interaction with Debbie lacked courtesy or professionalism.
Summary - I highly recommend Dr. Le for pediatric eye care, but I hope the clinic invests in better staff training--especially for handling insurance and patient communication.
My wife, son and I arrive to the doctors office and see a note on the door saying they only allow 1 adult in with a child. Us and another couple went in anyway. The ladies in the reception area was giving us strange looks. When my wife checked in, they told her that only one adult could go in to see the doctor with the child. They called my son name and the other couple's child's name ant the wives took the kids back to see the doctor. After they went back, someone (I assume it was one of the doctors) came out and told me and the other father that we had to leave. We couldn't even sit in the waiting room and wait on the mother and child to finish seeing the doctor. It's 45 degrees outside and there is no sitting area outside so I'm sitting in my truck. There was another father there with 2 twin daughters and they told him at first that he could only have one child there with him. He raised his voice and got upset saying that he is the only adult there with both kids. I assume they wanted to kick the 2nd daughter out. The receptionist finally agreed to let the 2nd child stay in the waiting room with them while the father took the other one back to see the doctor. Don't come here. I might tell my wife to find another eye doctor just because of this situation. If this is their policy, they should have told us this when we made the appointment instead of putting a sign on the door. If I could give zero stars I would.

At this i point i wouldnt give this clinic any stars.I am deeply disappointed with the way this clinic has handled what should have been a simple scheduling matter, and feel compelled to speak out due to significant ethical, professional, and possibly legal concerns regarding how this office is being managed.
My oldest child has been a long-standing patient at this clinic, first under the care of a former physician and later transitioning to Dr. Black without any prior issues. However, when it came to my younger child, the clinic's actions were deeply troubling.
I had to cancel my younger son's appointment on the same day due to illness. I called and spoke directly with the receptionist, who assured me it was not a problem and said I could call back at my convenience to reschedule. There was no indication at the time that this would count against us or lead to any repercussions. We did have one legitimate no-show in the past, but I was shocked to later learn that the cancelled appointment had been inaccurately marked as a no-show as well--resulting in my son being dismissed from the clinic without prior notice or warning.
I was never shown or informed of any clinic policy (either posted publicly or given in writing) regarding same-day cancellations or the number of missed appointments that could result in dismissal. This lack of transparency violates basic patient rights and best practices for ethical healthcare delivery.
I attempted to resolve the issue and requested that my younger son be reinstated as a patient, especially considering his need for pediatric ophthalmologic follow-up. This is when I spoke to the office manager, Debbie. From the start, she was extremely rude, unprofessional, and aggressive in tone--raising her voice, cutting me off, and attempting to dismiss the conversation outright. When I requested she discuss the situation with Dr. Black and consider my son's reinstatement, she abruptly asked whether my child "still had Medicaid." When I informed her we now had private insurance, she responded, "I think it's best if you take both boys somewhere else."
Despite my attempts to clarify that I wished to keep my oldest child with Dr. Black, Debbie ultimately hung up and later left a voicemail stating that she had spoken with Dr. Black, who also decided both children should seek care elsewhere. She then canceled my older son's upcoming appointment--again, without our consent or any formal documentation.
Debbie's conduct reflects a serious breach of professional ethics, including what appears to be discrimination based on insurance type, which may fall under insurance bias and violate anti-discrimination protections. Her behavior was hostile, dismissive, and completely inappropriate for someone managing a pediatric practice.
As a nurse with extensive hospital and clinical experience, I have never witnessed this level of unprofessionalism in a healthcare setting. Families deserve respectful, equitable treatment--regardless of insurance type. They deserve honest communication and transparency, not to be bullied, dismissed, or denied care without due process.
If this is the standard of care being upheld or tolerated in this clinic--especially under the management of someone like Debbie--it raises serious concerns about the clinic's commitment to ethical practice, patient advocacy, and inclusive care.
I would strongly encourage other families to be cautious, especially those insured by Medicaid. And I hope the providers at this clinic reconsider how their front office management is impacting not just their reputation--but their patients' rights and wellbeing.
The office staff is very patient and welcoming.
The building is accessible using a wheelchair.
There is a restroom located outside the office in the nearby corridor.
There are toys and books in the waiting room to keep little ones entertained.
Now for the icing on the cake:
Dr. Andrew Black is the best pediatric eye doctor.
I would never take my children anywhere else.
My oldest son has been his patient for years!
He has special needs, but Dr. Black never treats him like a diagnosis. He treats him like a kid and makes him laugh during the visit. He is always very professional, kind, patient, and genuine.
We love his bowties.
Thank you Dr. Black
