Dr. Hemelt and his staff are incredible at what they do. The entire process from my initial visit, to the surgery itself at OLOL Pontchartrain Surgery Center was flawless.

The staff and doctors were professional knowledgeable and helpful. I was well informed before my surgery about what to expect and felt very comfortable the entire time. I received encouragement and never felt any real pain or anxiety during or after surgery. I had successful cataract surgery at Northlake Eye Center. Dr. Hemelt and his staff were friendly, efficient and made every effort to inform me of what would happen at each step, answering all my questions. I highly recommend this practice! Pre-surgery instructions were clear and follow-up appointments gave me confidence. Dr. Hemelt said I could call him at any time during the process, but everything went so smoothly no call was necessary.

I went to Dr.Hemelt for cataract surgery and have been exceptionally happy with the results. The care and support I received from the staff at Northlake Eye Center has been first class. I definitely recommend Dr. Hemelt and this facility for eye care!

Like most people, I was concerned about having an eye operation. I have friends that have had their cataracts removed for the most part are very happy. My first appointment entailed a complete eye exam and a very detailed explanation of the surgery to remove the cataracts from my eyes. No pressure, no pushing to commit. I left their office with my questions answered and the next move was mine -- make an appointment when I was ready. I made the appointment and was schooled on the dos and what not to do after the operation -- very thorough. The operation on my part was simple -- just show-up! No pain, no blood, but I did have a patch on my eye when I left. The next morning I am (scheduled) back in the office for Dr. Hemelt to examine his work. When he removed the patch I knew I had made the right decision -- WOW! Everything was brighter, the colors were sharp, my distance vision was so much better. I didn't realize that I had been looking through a Kleenex for the past 10+ years. It happens so slowly that we don't realize the loss of our vision, until we get it back. I soon scheduled the other eye, WOW again. I can't speak for anyone reading this, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.

All of the staff members were very friendly and professional. Dr. Hemelt was very kind and fully explained all of the tests and procedures I was to undergo. My surgery went well and I am very pleased with the results.
