I really wanted to like this place because the office is absolutely beautiful inside. Unfortunately, the service has been extremely disappointing. At my first appointment, I waited over 30 minutes because the doctor was at lunch. I don't understand why appointments are scheduled during lunch if patients are going to be left waiting. Despite that, I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and even recommended the office to my sisters. I also scheduled appointments for both of my kids. I came in early December to order glasses, and now it's mid-February and they are still not ready. I've called multiple times and was told the glasses would be ready "by the weekend" and to give them extra time. When I finally went to pick them up the following Friday, I was told they still weren't ready. At this point, it seems like the frames haven't even been started. The lack of communication, repeated delays, and disregard for patients' time is extremely frustrating. I would not recommend this doctor or staff. The office may look nice, but the service has been awful and a complete waste of time.

I thought the store was beautiful and their inventory very good. Their sales staff very couteous and friendly. The reason 2 stars: my eyeglasses with their new frames sat for 4 weeks in their store without anyone contacting me. I was told when I purchased them it would take 6 to 8 weeks which was understandable and that THEY would contact me. I didn't want to aggravate them by calling every week inquiring about them, so I waited for the call. I called yesterday after 8 weeks, to just check , and was informed they had been sitting in their store for 4 weeks. Their response was that they have an auto system that contacts the customer when they receive them in store must have had a glitch. I believe the human involvement got replaced by auto system that messed up and caused annoyance.

Careful what you sign, but just because you sign a no refund clause DOESN'T mean they control the transaction. I have specialized frames and lenses that take a lot of impact. They're expensive so I buy frames online and just get the lenses put in. I had to sign thier policy and the lenses alone were over $600. The frames i brought were $400 Ok...they said two weeks. On week three they said the lab messed up and they had to do the lenses over. Fine, things happen. On the fourth week they told me that the lab inforned that they could not use the frames I brought in because they were glued in. Why didnt they tell me that sooner? They said they would sell me another frame at a discount...or I would have to bring in another frame and they would try again. They would not issue a refund. Here's the thing as consumers a business cannot require us to sign away our rights in order to get service. You cant take my money and then change all the terms. The contract was I bring in these frames and they put in lenses. If that can't happen the contract is void and so is the no-refund clause attached to that contract. Not sure what im going to do yet. Stay tuned.

for the record - i've seen *many doctors in my 43 years, mostly to address my 6 yr long cancer experience. my vision was extremely degraded and sensitive due to chemotherapy - and *i'm extremely sensitive to attitudes and energy, especially when it comes to doctors. i mistakenly arrived TWO hrs early for my appointment, but the staff graciously greeted me and said they'd be happy to accommodate me. the office is stunningly decorated and well-appointed - but it was the kindness inside that had me in tears. my eye exam was efficient, competent, thorough, and even accepted my Medicaid insurance. most notably, i truly appreciated the thought, care, and time that Dr. Agnew and her staff showed me. 10/10 can't wait to pick up my frames, and so happy to have found eyecare professionals who truly CARE.

Eyewares is a really attractive place. It is clean, bright with natural light and I love the colorful wallpaper. If felt like a fancy boutique. It was also fast. They got me in before my appointment time and did a thorough exam. Good place.

I called Eyewares store on Magazine to inquire about pricing and how long it would take to get my glasses. I talked to Brittany. She asked me to email my RX and said she would get back to me. I emailed that to her and never heard back. I did a follow up email and never heard back. I called the store during business hours and it went to voicemail. I left a voicemail. No one called back. Seems like they are not interested in having people use their business.

I would strongly recommend avoiding this office. For two years in a row I've had frustrating experiences, despite genuinely liking my interactions with Dr. Agnew herself. Unfortunately, the repeated problems with her team's customer service mean I will not be returning. Last year, after my annual exam, I ordered a year's worth of contacts. When I picked them up, they were the wrong prescription. It took weeks, multiple requests, and repeated follow-ups just to get a receipt and the correct lenses. This year, I decided to try their Magazine Street location instead of Metairie, since I was treated so rudely at the latter. While the Magazine Street staff weren't outright mean, they came across as dismissive and unhelpful. I was asked to come in earlier for my appointment, but once I arrived it was clear they were rushing to finish up for the day. Dr. Agnew herself seemed hurried--so much so that my trial lenses were mislabeled, with left and right prescriptions swapped. From there, the problems snowballed. The office promised to order correct trial lenses, but when I called to check a week later, the prescriptions were still wrong. Another reorder was needed. When only one lens came in, no one bothered to notify me. I had to keep calling to find out the status, and when I finally picked them up, the prescription had been changed again without any explanation. On top of that, the staff gave me a hard time for not using their patient portal--despite the fact that I was never given instructions or even invited to access it in the first place. At that point, I gave up and went back to my previous prescription, ordering from 1-800-Contacts instead--where the service was far more reliable. You can spend millions creating a sleek office, but when your staff treats patients with indifference and annoyance, it makes the entire practice feel hollow--just an expensive facade hiding a lack of genuine care.

My experience at Eye Wares is always phenomenal! The staff is very welcoming, knowledgeable, professional, and patient. They always take their time with my daughters, especially with my youngest, to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I truly appreciate the level of attention and kindness we receive every visit. Highly recommend!
