Dr Benevento has given my 97 year old mother excellent care. The review request was confusing. I thought it was a review of the entire visit experience . Dr. Benevento deserves 5 stars! However, my mother has had to wait for her procedure over 2 hours several times and that has been very exhausting for someone her age in poor health. I am sure that this is not the doctor's fault rather a scheduling problem!

My first experience with Dr. Benevento was my eye surgery in December 2020, for the repair of a macular hole in my right eye. From my first appointment with him up through my final visit, I have nothing but the highest praise and confidence in him. Easy to talk with, especially in answering my questions and, as far as I am concerned, the best eye doctor I have ever dealt with, bar none! Which is why I say with utter confidence concerning my second eye surgery this week (left eye), that I would, and will, should the opportunity ever present itself, recommend him to anyone in need of his knowledge, skills and experience without hesitation! I was visiting family for the Christmas holiday when I realized something was going on with my eye. The ER made me an appointment with the Ophthalmology Dept. Several Dr's examined my eye and stated that I needed laser surgery immediately to repair my cornea. Dr. Benevento was at another hospital performing surgery, we were told he would come to Ochsner after to take care of me. It was well after 5pm on the Friday after Christmas who wants to work. This wonderful Dr showed up and repaired my eye. He told me to follow up with a cornea specialist in Tennesse in a week. I had my 1 week checkup Friday. The Dr was very impressed with the repair and said I was very lucky to have caught this so soon. I am very grateful to Dr Benevento.

I cannot see out of my right eye. The nurses were very thorough. Dr Beneveto came in and checked what the nurses had done. My vision went from 25/20 to 2400 because of bleeding in my eye.
