Dr. Luu recommended Optilight treatment for my dry eyes during my checkup in December 2024. He said he performs four 15-minute treatments (1 every 2 weeks), and the cost is $1200, which is not covered by insurance. It is supposed to eliminate the need for daily prescription drops. My first treatment was on 05/18/25, and I paid $1200 in full. Virginia, a staff member, applied a numbing agent to my face in the lobby and said we had to wait for "the room" to become available. She said Dr. Luu can perform the treatments, but she is trained and handles them for him. I was a little apprehensive, but I allowed her to do the treatments. The first one went well, but everything went downhill after that. I arrived for the second appointment on 06/11/25, and Virginia was not there, and I was told Dr. Luu could not perform the treatments. They did not call to tell me ahead of time. After setting other appointments, I was called many times to move appointments around to the point that it was 3 weeks between treatments. I insisted Dr. Luu call me, which he did. He apologized and said he would address this because his office manager should have made him aware of the issues I was having. Since getting my $1200 back was not an option, Virginia and I agreed to begin fresh with the first treatment beginning on 07/08/25. I was still being treated in the lobby and now waiting 1-1.5 hours for the "treatment room". During this time, the machine was malfunctioning, and she had to keep making adjustments to "trick"the machine. Equipment maintenance is not a priority here either. When my husband and I had a regular eye check, the eye pressure gauges did not work. Same with their office computers. The only time I was the cause of a delay was on 08/18/25; my eyes were inflamed and burning terribly. I asked Virginia to have Dr. Luu check my eyes because I did not think I should have treatment that day. He checked my eyes and agreed that no treatment should be performed that day. He prescribed Prednisone drops to reduce inflammation. Of course, I was charged for an office visit but just trying to get these final treatments completed. My LAST appointment 09/08/25 at 3:30 p.m. was cancelled by Dr. Luu's office when they called me at 1:17 p.m. that day! I was upset & asked if Dr. Luu could possibly handle it & was told I would have to wait for hours because he was busy. Rescheduled for 09/11/25 @ 10:30 a.m. No one apologized when I arrived & at this point I did not care. I just wanted to end this nightmare. I did not have to wait as long in the lobby for "the room" but I had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE & WILL NEVER RETURN. My face was burning during the treatment & when Virginia finished, I had SEVERE PAIN in my right eye & I could not open it. I told Virginia to get Dr. Luu ASAP. He came into the room & after I could finally open my eye he applied some prednisone drops to both eyes. I told him the entire experience has been AWFUL & like a nightmare since 05/28/25. He said he was sorry & to return in 1 month to check my eyes. There is no way I will return & allow them to mistreat me again. I left there crying in pain. Dr. Luu obviously does not have an office manager & staff he can depend on. It would serve him well to invest in his equipment. I omitted other details due to the length of this review. I am waiting to see a specialist to check my eyes & am continuing to use the daily eye drops prior to ever receiving any treatments.

I've always had good experiences here. I just recently came to get contacts and the entire staff was so nice and made me feel so comfortable, I was scared at first and they have me the confidence to start wearing contacts again! The Doctor offered to sit with me and practice taking them in and out, and even though I didn't do that it was still very nice of him to offer! Best place!
Dr. Luu is an awesome eye doctor. He is always so patient, caring and kind. I highly recommend him. Ms. Anjelle is the best, also. She took her time and helped me find the perfect glasses. If you are looking for an eye doctor, give Acadiana Vision a try.
My first visit went very well. I made my appointment online with no problems. One of the office staff called me to verify a few things and she was VERY professional and friendly. Her name is Rachel. She ended up being the person who checked me in for my appt. and got me ready to see Dr. Luu. Again- friendly, professional, and made sure things went on time. She explained each step. Dr. Luu was very nice, worked quickly but not rushed, and answered all of my questions. I had a really knowledgeable lady help me pick out some great frames. She was very patient, polite, and professional. Even Rachel checked on me several times between dealing with other patients! I ended up ordering a new pair of glasses and frames plus my first pair of prescription sunglasses. I love both pair and was very pleased with my first experience at Acadiana Vision!
This is the best vision care business I have EVER been to. I don't even care if I have to wait in the waiting room an hour past my time to see Dr. Luu. He, and his team, are THAT amazing! They take their time, they listen to your concerns, they review any and all past medical issues and they are thorough! If you need to wait to order your prescriptions...that is okay and they don't question it! Their love and kindness shows for their patients and I could not recommend them more for ANY and ALL ages!
If I could give zero or negative stars I would. I went back 4 times to have my glasses adjusted. They said the issue was the lab kept getting my prescription wrong. I now live out of town so I had to drive 1.5 hours each time. I wanted a refund but did not get one . I ended up asking to have my original prescription put in hoping the lab will get that correct. I'm not confident that it will be correct, but I didn't know what else to do. Even though this isn't the actual doctor's fault, they are still using a lab that appears to not be able to get it right. I received the glasses in the mail and they are crooked. That was never an issue before. I do not recommend and I have told many people to go elsewhere.
The only positive thing about this place is Dr. Lu. The office staff are absolutely atrocious. Over the years, I have witnessed the front desk staff openly talking rudely about a patient after they exited the building. I also found billing discrepancies after I asked about certain charges. The final straw was the front desk hanging up on me after holding to make an appointment for nearly 10 minutes.
Dr.Luu and his tem have always provides the best eye check up and treatments. They are so welcoming and have great attitudes! Will always recommend acadiana vision to everyone!
