Haik Humble Eye Center

This was a bittersweet visit. The ladies who worked with me from check in to check out were all so friendly and welcoming. The problem was I wanted to try a trial pair of contacts, but don't wear contacts. I did not realize I was going to be charged $60. I thought this was part of the exam that my insurance covered. There was a paper that I signed for the contacts, but I along with probably 50% of people didn't read the paper. If the staff member asking me to sign would have said I was going to have to pay $60, I would have definitely said no thank you. So, I will most likely not use the contacts and feel like I went to Haik Humble and purchased glasses and threw $60 of my fee in the trash can. This was not the best way to handle charging patients and informing me of a charge. I do realize now that I should have read the document, but all she had to do was say "Here is a document stating you're responsible for paying the $60 contact exam fee." And again I would have said no thank you for that exam. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied in this process and me throwing $60 away. This is not good customer service. Maybe this review will help others save the $60.

After being a patient at Haik and Humble for many years, I can attest to their professionalism and commitment to patient care. Dr Parker provides ongoing monitoring of my eye health and always takes the time to explain changes in my vision, answer questions, and provide options for future treatment of my eye conditions to keep me seeing my best in the years ahead. The entire team is always kind and patient, never rushing me through each step of the process from check in to check out and every step in between. I fully trust Haik and Humble with my eye care and will continue to recommend them to others.

I can't say enough good things about my experience at Haik Humble! From the moment I walked in, Dianne Hilburn and Dr. Carla made me feel completely at ease. Dianne was so kind, helpful, and on top of everything -- she made the whole process smooth and stress-free. You can tell she really cares about the patients and loves what she does. I left feeling truly cared for and confident in my treatment. Thank you, Dianne and Dr. Carla, for going above and beyond -- you're both wonderful!

I've been coming to Haik and Humble for several years now and the care I've received has always been good. I had a scheduled appointment this past Monday and asked to reschedule because my mother was having an unplanned surgery on that day in Alexandria, LA. I was told that it would be JUNE (5 months) before I could be seen if I rescheduled. This seems unreal to me for an established patient. We had to scramble and make other arrangements for my elderly mother. Because I needed a new prescription for contacts, I couldn't wait that long. I just believe exceptions need to be made for loyal, established patients.

The Physician Assistant provided a basic exam, but didn't readily offer additional information regarding my specific medical issue. He failed to share any info with me regarding his suspected diagnosis. I only learned this while he was dictating to his scribe. I felt sort of ignored rushed and uninvolved in my treatment. Thank God, I'm a nurse and was able to navigate the appropriate next step for follow-up.

The staff are very professional, kind, and caring. Dr Bonnette explained to me what he found during my examination and contacted Dr Gregorian about this. I felt like I was treated with my care and condition in mind. Thank you Dr Bonnette and staff. You are wonderful!!

3/10 WOULD NOT Recommend. Horrible service. Front desk staff seem to hate their jobs. Very nonchalant and disrespectful towards BLACK PEOPLE. And BLACK PEOPLE ONLY.! Ugh my mother was less than 15 min late to her appointment and was turned around. And scheduled two weeks out.
