Being a little bit chicken as I had never had surgery of any kind before, I waited until I was 75 and retired to have my cataracts operated on. I heard the surgery was easy. Easy is putting it mildly! Dr. France was outstanding. The most amusing thing to me was that I had no idea I had gray hair! Nobody told me. And I was unaware of all the wrinkles before. Now I know. . Five stars to this organization. Thank you!

Dr. France is fabulous. I had my first cataract surgery and it went great. His office staff is amazing with very caring people. His surgical team was warm and wonderful and made surgery so pleasant. Dr. France is the best. I 100% recommend Dr. France should you need cataract surgery. Can't say enough great things about this team. no problems or complaints about the healing process. I'm doing great.

The fluid removal and lens implantation procedure was successful, and all the hospital staff were kind.

Dr France has been one of the most helpful doctors I have ever seen. He explains all aspects thoroughly and encourages questions to understand issues and diagnosis better as the patient. He's been a strong advocate for my eye health as well as anything that might be related, communicating with my other providers when appropriate and necessary. Having a Uveitis specialist in Southern Maine has been such a huge benefit in my care and understanding of my own diagnosis. I cannot recommend Dr. France enough!

I'm traveling right now from another state and in the middle of vacation came down with some extremely uncomfortable eye symptoms. I have a fairly complex history that's been difficult for others to follow and have now seen ophthalmologists for my issues at UCLA, Keck medicine, in Dallas, Clearwater, Tampa and Charlotte, and everyone has told me something slightly different and no one else has ever fully addressed my issues or taken the entire picture into account quite as much as Dr. France did in a short visit. I had a lot of questions because I've been dealing with so many issues for years now and couldn't help but pick his brain. He was so patient and really explained things thoroughly and went into so much detail which I wanted. My husband is a doctor but not an ophthalmologist so I was able to pass along some info. We are both so glad to have happened upon him and I wasn't joking when I told my husband I would fly back up to Maine to see him after the experiences I've had with other eye doctors now, including a surgery I still have side effects from months later that the surgeon in another state dismissed as just needing a refraction, which isn't the case. The clinical diagnosis here was excellent and the kind women up front not only squeezed me in same day, but also had a good understanding of my issues enough to have a thorough conversation with my husband. I am so appreciative of this facility, its staff, and Dr. France.

We met Dr France a little more than a year ago when my husband was diagnosed with Uveatis, a pretty scary condition. Dr France was patient and provided clear explanations and he's been a great doctor keeping my husbands eye healthy!

One of the best people I know. I am thinking of having my eyes checked and he will be the one I go to!
