I saw Dr. Abrams in February 2017. Prior to my visit, I called his office and confirmed that he accepted my insurance and was assured that he did. I went to my appointment and that went fine. A month later I received a bill for $400.00. I called his office and checked with my insurance. My insurance carrier confirmed that my responsibility was $40.00 which I paid. That said, I have continued to receive bills for the remainder ($360.00) and was referred to a credit agency. The billing office from Dr. Abrams practice told me that the $40.00 covered my responsibility for the exam but the $360.00 was a charge for Dr. Abrams office space. I have never heard of such a charge and I have sent letters to Dr. Abrams and the Krieger Eye Institute's CEO to no avail.
