This place used to be good. However now they never answer the phone. They don't communicate and they double book appointments. On top of all of that they blame patients and take no ownership or responsibility.
Don't waste your time.
Contrary to other reviewers, I had no issues with the administrative staff, though it was disconcerting to have had to wait 3.5 months for an appointment. Rather, my concern had to do with the clinical service. I came in with significant pre-existing eye issues, including a known cataract, but I did not come to Krieger Eye with acute eye pain as a chief complaint. But after the anesthetic eye drops wore off about 1/2 hour after the appointment, that was the situation. Agonizing pain that only slowly abated over the course of about a week. Prior to seeing the main physician, a resident and a tech had both evaluated me; the resident's evaluation seemed very thorough, including various diagnostic procedures that may have necessitated light direct contact with the eye. I would not question that these procedures adhered to standard of care. Nor can I prove causation, but there is at least some possibility the resident or the physician inadvertently caused some corneal irritation, precipitating the pain. To this point, over the course of years I've seen several eye providers (including specialists cognizant of my issues rooted in an earlier brain tumor), all of whom have said that, all things considered, I was protecting the cornea fairly well and that it generally looked okay, while today (03-06-2025) I also saw an ophthalmologist elsewhere who said the same. My Krieger visit was an aberrance, I'm not happy, and I would not return to Krieger Eye. Sinai Hospital can feel free to contact me - they can very easily discern my identity.
Postscript - I did, one day after leaving the review, speak with the physician associated with the service, and appreciated his genuine words of concern. There was never a question to start that whoever triggered the eye irritation didn't do so intentionally, but, instead, was probably inadequately sensitive to the very delicate situation in which my eye presented due to extensive past history. Hopefully this will present to them as a teachable/learning moment so that other patients who present to them don't leave with similar adverse outcomes, and, fortunately, corneal irritations, though mightily painful, resolve fairly quickly so no permanent harm done.
They don't return calls - called a few times left messages. Now a week later still waiting. Went elsewhere
This place needs better management.
Awful customer service, patients are waiting for more than two hours to be seen and staff won't even bother to let us know why are we waiting for sooo.... long. Wouldn't even talk to us or offer to reschedule.
I would give them a 0 star.
If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. This is the worst place to receive eye care. Their staff have not one ounce of customer service or professionalism. They never respond to phone calls or call patients back. This is an embarrassing establishment, I was beyond shocked I was told to come here. I would never trust this place with my eye care.
They said they accepted workers comp. Took a trip two states over to wait a hour and half in doctor Lambas office to be told they are not workers comp doctors. Was told in passive aggressive tone that they can't do anything for me and to leave the office. I spent 100$ of travel fees to be mistreated and look like a fool in front of the patient lobby. They will yell at you in front of other patients, mistreat you, and they don't even know thier insurance policies. On top of all that they let me leave the clinic without being able too because of the sensitivity of numbing eye drops and eye dials took drops before realizing they don't take workers comp. Total disaster, would not recommend, 0/10, find a different ophthalmologist. Did not apologize whatsoever very entitled employees
Best eye clinic I've ever been to (including the one on Sanai's campus). Incredibly friendly and helpful staff and extremely competent and attentive providers. Couldn't recommend more.
My prescription before my eye surgery still has not been prescribed yet and I am unable to get through to anyone at the Krieger Eye Clinic. (2 weeks awaiting) This office is unorganized and has terrible staff!!
This manager must not pay attention to the stars (listed as one of b-mores worst eye clinic) stating patients impact on the employees, unsustainable workload, terrible functionality, or their team member's inappropriate behavior.
This Office Should Be Closed or A New Manager!!!
