Marc Hirschbein, MD

The whole office, including Dr. Hirschbein are kind, empathetic, accommodating, patient, and concerned. He is such a wonderful, thorough physician who really cares and wants to find a solution to the problem....and I have had many with my eye.

My 87 year old Dad was here visiting from out of town when he fell down and had multiple fractures around his eye and sinus . After getting out of the hospital i was told to have Dad follow up with an ophthalmologist. I was referred to Dr. Hirschbein by my eye doctor.knowing that my dad was flying out at the end of the week i wasnt sure if Dad would get in on such short notice. When i called and explained my dire situation to Dr. Hirschbein's administrative associate, India Carr, this beautiful soul moved heaven and earth just to squeeze Dad in less than 3 hours after our call to his office. Dad was in a chair in front of Dr. Hirschbein before lunch and was checked out thoroughly. Dr. Hirschbein was not only extremely professional but talked to Dad like a normal person, and not like a robot. It was quite a breath of fresh air. I have been searching for a primary care doctor for 3 years now and havent found one i even remotely like. If i found a doctor that was even half of what Dr. Hirschbein is i would certainly consider that a win. I would definitely say he is a 5 star doctor.

HI have been taking for years for chronic back pain that my pain Doc has written this med for years but was recently increased my the ortho surgical team post-op. My pain Doc wanted the surgeon or the surgeon's P.A. to write it until the surgical pain was no longer an issue (like a week to a month depending on how my healing progresses). The surgeon's P.A. didn't even get to the point of discussing this with me due to other medical problems to explore before I'd be discharged from the E.D. Then she was either pulled into a more serious case or into surgery or, I believe, she was off home without touching base with me before leaving. This medication is an uncommonly prescribed one for anyone not suffering severe pain, usually end-stage cancer and the like. As I've been taking it for over a decade, I've built up quite a tolerance and this means the dose I take is high enough that it could kill someone without my level of tolerance. Of course this would nunnnynhbhmake anyone hesitant to involve themselves, especially all prescribers who are putting their hjy hymn yum on gbyntynyuhyn n Unnecessary licenses, their livelihoods, and their life and mine on the line if anything went wrong -accidentally or intentionally. I explained the disagreement the surgeon and pain doc were having before my surgeon said to just go to ER about this; and that it left me screwed for pain control. Dr. Ramsey said he wasn't comfortable writing it and that this medication at the levels I regularly take are at a level only a pain management physician should be writing. So I figured at this point I was S.O.L. at least for the night and next day, potentially until I saw my surgeon at my next follow-up a week away. I then remembered a previous issue similar from a few years back when I'd had an extreme pain flair and ended up at the ER. That doctor didn't feel comfortable medicating me. After that my pain Doc had let me know, that if in future, I found myself there again that there is always a pain fellow from his practice at the hospital for in-patient care and he or she can be pages to ER by whatever doc is treating me there to provide guidance or write the script. When next Dr. "William" stepped in to my cubicle I told him if this and that I was already trying to look up who was covering the pain service that night. That I was trying to look up whomever was on for pain mngmnt so that he or she could take this burden and fear from his overworked shoulders. He seemed genuinely surprised and happily relieved by this news. So it was my turn to be surprised when he popped back in and asked how many pills I'd need to get to my follow up appointment. As I tried to do that math out loud, explaining the dosage times, and blundered to a 3-digit number I was certain that the sheer quantity alone was a no-go. To my surprise and delighted relief, after I'd given my guesstimate aloud, Dr. Ramsey drew a prescription from behind his back with a flourish and a satisfied smile for my medication, even 25 pills more than I'd calculated. This may seem an act too small or unimportant to be given so much detailed recounting, gratitude and praise. But for anyone who suffers fchronic pain or anyone who's had major surgery (ortho/bone surgeries being very painful for the initial few weeks) and hasn't been provided with enough, or any, medication for pain control will understand this. Dr. Hershbine and staff are the best. I would highly recommend him and staff. Everyone was friendly and caring.
