Medical Eye Center

Office smelled pleasantly like a coffee shop. Wait time was short and staff were friendly. Dr was polite, knowledgable, and respectful during my visit.

Dr Lui is fabulous! Been seeing him for 27 years!!! Need I say more? Bailey at the desk is phenomenal, knows the desk inside & out...HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This is two stars (rather than one) only because the front desk and intake women were very nice. However, aside from that I found my visit there to be of no value. I made an appointment because my left eye has been bothering me for about a month. It often feels irritated and a bit itchy. Also, at about that time a that eye developed a 'bag' under it that is somewhat tender. It wasn't there before and there isn't one under the right eye. Dr. Lui was 30 minutes late, seemed about as unenthused to be there as I've ever seen a doctor, and provided no useful information. He looked at my eyes, added some drops to evaluate, said he didn't see anything. Then he told me to wash my eyes with something like baby shampoo, and told me the bag under my left eye was because I was getting older and such things aren't always symmetric. There was no acknowledgement that the situation was somewhat sudden (there was no gradual appearance of that issue), that is was sometimes tender, and that the eye is somewhat irritated (albeit, generally mildly). In any event, I left there thinking I will just look for a new doctor. I'm guessing Dr. Lui is a nice person (who knows), but he may want to revisit his approach to his profession.

Read the fine print. They charge $45 for a prescription even if you already have one and $60 for an eye exam which isn't covered. The doctor also didn't pay any attention to me and babbled about something I said explicitly I did not need help with for 20 minutes. Do these docs think we have unlimited time and money? Blame is placed solely on the doctor though because the front desk was very nice, capable, and helpful.

The office staff was so friendly and polite. I've never been to a doctors office where everyone speaks that nicely and calmly, which is also good because majority of the visitors seemed to be older. Visit was a quick and easy one and my concerns were addressed. Will definitely be coming back here if needed!

I was very pleased with the whole experience! I was first greeted by Bailey who was wonderful, the way all front desk people should treat their customers! Dr Lui was great, answered all my questions about the procedure with great results! As I left the other ladies were so kind as well! I look forward to my next visit!

I have to share this as many may not be aware regarding this eye medical practice regarding insurance. I went in for the first time as a new patient for my annual eye exam. They have patients sign a waiver stating that if they want additional medical tests conducted that they will charge an additional fee. I had some questions, so I asked the front desk about why that was in there. My insurance vision plan covers an annual eye exam, but I was curious to know about the additional fee's they were referring too. The staff told me there was nothing to worry about and that the provider would allow me to elect to have additional tests conducted. I go in for the exam and the provider does not allow or provide me the ability to consent to the additional medical testing for the eye exam. So I check my insurance portal and medical eye center bills my insurance company twice. Once for the annual eye exam which was covered and the other time for the medical exam. When I look at the code/explanation of benefits for this exam, they coded me as an "existing patient" (which is incorrect) and made it seemed like I was having additional procedures that was not standard in an annual eye exam. Then eye center proceeds to bill me more than what my insurance allows and I had to correct them on it. BEWARE of this place. I will never stepping foot at this location again. very deceptive/unethical practices.

Dr. Hammer and his staff are outstanding! Look no further if you are looking for a practice. From the minute you check in to the time of checkout, everyone is very efficient, friendly, but professional. You feel confident you had the best eye exam possible when your appointment is finished. Dr. Hammer's practice was highly recommended to me and I have to say their recommendations were right.
