I wont even go into details about the tech who helped during my exam. The contact lady is pretty rude and short. I got 2 complete pairs of glasses and lenses replaced in an existing pair. The they messed the frames up tightening one pair, had to wait, then the edges weren't polished, had to send them back to the lab again. On my lense replacement pair, the edges were not polished as well and I had to wait longer. When I finally got them today, the nose piece was poorly repaired. Something must have happened and they didn't mention it to me. The staff maybe never noticed. Also, one of my pairs has normal polished edges, but 2 other pairs have beveled edges. I have worn glasses for 30 years, I've never seen that before...even when I have bought glasses from this exact business. When I went to pick them up the first time, the time they were not polished, they were not beveled at that point. I don't understand this, it is a big issue for me. Now I need to figure how how to address it. One gentleman is very kind but the rest are short, rude and fake. I hope to have this sorted out.
Optical dept is awful! Glasses were incorrectly made even though I called to ensure they were being made as computer and near vision without the distance part, and was told yes. Picked up the glasses and immediately noticed something was wrong, but the optician insisted I'd adjust, and insisted they were the no-line bifocal and not the progressive. Took forever to get back in for a re-check. At re-check it was determined that they had been made incorrectly, as progressive trifocals. Then sat me in a chair waiting for an optician for over 30 minutes just to be told they would re-make the glasses instead of just letting me leave. No offer to expedite or discount, no apology. Will take my business elsewhere!
I always have great experiences with Physicians Eye Care Center. Everyone there treats my family and I with professionalism and respect.
My husband and I went to get our annual (glasses/contacts) eye exams. We were informed (when we had already started the glasses exams) that the contact specialist was on vacation, and we were going to have to schedule another appointment to get the contact evaluation. We had to pay them for two additional visits because they failed to notify us that the only contact specialist was on vacation. When we went to our second contacts appointment, the specialist literally yelled at us in front of everyone waiting in the lobby because she said that she only had my husband booked and not myself. I told her we both had appointments , but if she could only take one of us, to treat my husband since he needed the contacts for work. She continued to act annoyed and told me to go to the back with them and that she would have to now rush because we were not the only ones in the building. At the end of the visit, she apologized for being so rude without us prompting her to do so (so at least she apologized). Now, months later, I have received a very demeaning letter stating I owe them $10. It literally says, "We did not hesitate in giving you our service and CAN NOT understand why you ignore our request for payment." I literally have not received any statements or bills in the post. They had called me on the phone previously to tell me they had made a mistake and didn't charge us the additional $10. I questioned them, since we did in fact pay, but they doubled down. I agreed because I didn't want to continue the annoying conversation over $10. They stated they were going to send me a bill, and I confirmed my address but didn't receive anything until now. I definitely do NOT recommend this place. They are so incredibly rude, even though all the mistakes and misunderstandings are caused by them.
I went to another location for my appointment (had a great experience), but my new lenses were wrong. The soonest appointment I could get to check them with the doctor was in Columbia. It was farther away, but my experience with the optical center was hands down worth the additional driving. From the technician who reviewed everything in the doctor office, who then walked me to Sam in the optical department and explained what she thought the issue was, to my interactions with Sam, the experience was just very focused on what was best for my very particular eyes. He was very thorough in making adjustments to my frames to maximize my visual experience and he paid attention to even how my old glasses were shaped to create the best outcome. Not only did Sam recommend I wait til the morning to wear my new (much changed) glasses, he suggested I be prepared to treat the headache that was expected partway through the day with my extreme prescription. I am delighted, on day two that I did not need to treat the headache that came much later in the day and that I am already adjusting well to the big change. I highly recommend the practice, but especially if you have sensitive eyes, make a point to have Sam help with your new specs.
I had an exam in March and asked several times during my appt about my contact lens rx but to date I still don't have it. The doctor said during the exam to share my current rx with the front desk when I was checking out -- ok?! I thought I'd be *re-examined* for contacts but whatever I needed to get them refilled. My eyes were dilated during the exam so I handed the front desk my contacts rx & an image of the box/brand of my contacts, and saw someone wrote it down. They said the doc would send the rx later. I walked out with only my glasses rx. Weird, I thought.
Two days later I got a rude voicemail saying "you never told us the brand of contacts" ma'am I handed the rx and a picture of the box to the front desk. I called back the same day and left a voicemail about the brand. 6 weeks later and still no contact lens rx. I called twice and no one is answering.
I'm just going somewhere else and going to pay for another contact lens exam. This place is a joke. Can't wait for them to bill me and hound me for services they barely provided!
The optical exam went well. I forgot her name but the technician was very kind and transparent about each procedure. I did not wait too long but I also arrived very early. One thing I had a problem with is the insane prices of glasses. Whatever you do, take your prescription and do not buy glasses here! Go to Costco, online stores, etc. Maybe this is common knowledge, I don't know. I paid a ridiculous amount for glasses and the salesperson made it seem like I had to buy glasses here. They were also choosing designer frames for me despite being way out of my budget. Overall, not a bad place but you can definitely save money buying glasses elsewhere.
The exam was good. Everyone was professional and courteous. I'm disappointed with the service I received at the optical shop. Again, everyone was very courteous. I chose two expensive rimless Silhouette frames. But I didn't realize that the temple length was too short. The website indicates the frames are expertly fitted. This definitely wasn't my experience. Similar frames I wore to the appointment are 150 mm and the two I received were 140 mm.
Update, I received a call earlier in the year from Debbie in the optical department in the Turf Valley office. She ordered 150 mm temple pieces for my two pairs of glasses and replaced them free of charge. I'm changing my review from two to four stars and in the future I'll visit this office for new frames.
