This location is the best! They're super friendly! Get you in and out and really care about their support and customer service. I have no problem with getting parking validated and the wait time is the shortest I've experienced. I look forward to coming back to this location. Dr. Lan Chang is extremely knowledgeable and breaks everything down to your understanding. I'm so happy with my decision of coming to see her at the Capital Hill location.

Was not a positive interaction with the physician. She did not speak to my daughter about her concerns, she interrupted me when I tried to speak and explain the reason for the visit, she did not review my daughter's chart before entering the room, and did not seem interested in hearing us out.

I'd struggled with a left-eye issue for years and other doctors couldn't figure it out. Dr. Lan Chang spotted the problem right away and scheduled a quick surgery. I feel normal again, so grateful for her skill and care!

Dr Chang performed surgery on my daughter to correct her eye drift. She was very professional and skilled. I can't thank Dr Chang and her team at Kaiser's Kensington Medical Center enough for the excellent care and expertise they provided for my daughter.

I had an absolutely awful experience with Dr. Chang. I brought my daughter in for a persistent and concerning eye issue at the end of January, and Dr. Chang was incredibly dismissive and insensitive. She interrupted me constantly, barely listening to my concerns, and seemed very casual about a problem that's been stressing my daughter out for weeks. We've seen multiple providers already trying to get a diagnosis, so we were hoping to get a clear treatment plan from her. Her explanations were vague and confusing. When I tried to clarify, she just talked over me. The worst part was trying to get information about follow-up care. I asked when we should come back if things don't improve, and she couldn't give me a straight answer, even though the discharge instructions mention it. She walked out of the office abruptly, ending the appointment before I got full responses to my questions. It felt like she just wanted to get us out of the office as quickly as possible. Completely unprofessional and unhelpful. It was extremely disappointing. I saw that Kaiser responded here to others, instructing them to email kpmidatlantic@kp.org; I emailed this email address weeks ago and have not heard a response.

I have experienced double vision for about three years and been to see three eye doctors. Twenty minutes with Dr Chang and I was fixed. She is the Greatest.

My daughter and I met with Dr. Chang on Thursday, February 6 @9:40am. My daughter and I went to the ophthalmologist for her checkup and to update her prescription. The technician dilated my daughter's eyes when Dr. Chang got to the room; before any exam and said my daughter is too old to see an ophthalmologist her vision not getting better and does not need surgery, so no need to follow up with the ophthalmologist. Dr. Chang did not even do an eye exam and hardly ever looked at my daughter except to have her follow an object with her eyes and shine a rainbow color light in her eyes. She was very harsh, not answering my daughter's questions and my daughter and I were very uncomfortable throughout the appointment, even though it lasted 2 minutes. Dr. Chang avoided my daughter's question altogether, In addition, she tried to bump up the prescription strength glasses to nearly double what it was before. When my daughter questioned why the number was up, and Dr. Chang said, "Don't worry about the number, I will give you a glass you can see with" without even looking at her with an angry voice. I have worked in health care service for two decades and have never met a physician like Dr. Chang. I have been a Kaiser member for 8 years, and I have never met any provider who disgraced Kaiser Permanente like her, who made me think of changing my insurance. The doctor did not ask my daughter if she had any concerns regarding her vision or whether her eyesight had improved or worsened. She handed us a prescription; we don't know how she got to decide what prescription my daughter needed without completing an assessment. Dr. Chang also began to worsen my daughter's hopes of ever getting better vision, using phrases like 'your vision won't get better' and 'your eyes cannot be fixed.' These negative comments were not only discouraging but also unprofessional, and phrases cannot be used when communicating with children. I am hoping Kaiser Permanente will take into consideration children's health and hire more children's opthomologist with good bedside manners and excellent clinical experience. It is unfortunate that Kaiser Permanente has a provider who does not have a passion and provides care that does not do much with Kaiser's mission. Our experience was the worst, Dr. Chang was an impolite, disrespectful, and unprofessional physician.

I have had Kaiser Permanente for nearly thirty years and I've been very happy with my care UNTIL I saw Dr. Chang. She's a real tarnish on KP and doesn't belong there -or anywhere near patients. My daughter and I had an extremely unpleasant 3 minute meeting with Dr. Lan Chang, who, after being rude to the nurse when she entered the room, proceeded to hand my daughter a B&W tablet, asked her to do some stuff with it for 60 seconds, told me that her eyes were better than most, she then held her finger out in front of her, asked her to focus on it -criticized my daughter for not really trying to focus on her finger, asked her to focus again, then stopped and said our daughter's eyes were fine and concussions take time to heal. This was contrary to the assessment of the optometrist the day before who did a 30+ minute assessment including a dilation, as well as another person outside of Kaiser. To which she simply stated, "well, I'm the specialist" and so I asked her to spit out what she was essentially eluding to, which was that my daughter just wasn't trying hard enough, or was faking eye issues, which she essentially then stated, at which point I got upset with her, and asked her to leave. Either Dr. Chang is one of the world's best doctors and can do a comprehensive assessment in two minutes, or she's just burnt out and doesn't want to put in the work that she actually gets paid for. Regardless, she's a disgrace to Kaiser Permanente who really needs to fire her so that Dr. Chang can have the opportunity to go into research where she doesn't have to deal with people -something she's clearly not qualified to do.
