I had an amazing experience at Eyeworks Optical in Maryland! From the moment I walked in, the service was professional, warm, and completely personalized. Mr. David Richards, the manager and owner, went above and beyond to make sure my eyewear experience was exactly what I wanted. There were hundreds of stylish and affordable options to choose from -- including minority- and women-owned eyewear brands, which I loved seeing represented. I even got to meet eyewear designers in person, learn about their collections, and see their pieces up close -- that kind of experience is rare! I also customized a clip-on sun cover for my glasses (so convenient for indoor/outdoor transitions!) and picked up my new progressive lenses, which fit me perfectly. From start to finish, this was VIP-level service with plenty of parking and a clean, modern space. If you want top-tier care, quality frames, and a personal touch -- Eyeworks Optical is the place to go!

As a longtime resident of Montgomery County, Maryland, I have searched to find a vision care center nearby that would provide quality and proficiency. My search ended recently when I discovered Eye Works located in Olney, Maryland. My recent experience at Eye Works with owner/manager, David Richards, has truly been beyond exceptional. From the moment that I entered the store and was greeted by David, it was clear that he not only exhibited an expertise in optometry, but also a compassion and understanding for people. In searching for the ideal frame, David took a great amount of time guiding and assisting me. I felt that he was being extremely honest and sincere as we gathered many suitable frames. I ultimately settled on a frame that fit my petite face and had style and functionality. As promised, my glasses were ready in a very reasonable amount of time, and David fit them beautifully to my face. I wore them for about a week and became concerned about the continual smudging on the lenses. David had assured me that he stood behind all of his work, so I brought the glasses back. David listened very closely to my concern and without question, offered to replace the lenses at no charge. I tried the new lenses and although they were better, I still encountered similar problems. With some hesitation, I brought the glasses back again. At that point, David said something that I had not expected to hear. He stated that if the next option he tried did not work, he would find another way to make me comfortable with my purchase. Rarely, have I experienced such gracious customer service. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, David had already thought of another option to solve my problem and actually had new lenses waiting for me. He put in the new lenses immediately and without question. I wore the new glasses for another week and realized that David had unequivocally solved the problem. My experience with David Richards, at Eye Works in Olney, has truly renewed my trust and confidence in people. His knowledge, character, and dedication to provide exceptional quality and service has far exceeded my expectations. It is without any reservation, that I highly recommend David at Eye Works. He is genuinely an expert in his field and an asset to the community!

My experience at EyeWorks Vision Care Center has been exceptional. Owner and Optician David Richards is extraordinarily skilled at providing the best possible frames, fitting, and experience for customers. When it comes to eyewear, I should admit that I am one of those very picky customers (and David was so patient with me as I tried on many frames). I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but I had already looked at two other optical stores before finding exactly what I wanted at EyeWorks. But beyond the look of my frames, they are expertly cut lenses. In the past, I've made the mistake of trying discount shops, including Warby Parker, Costco, and Kaiser Vision. Frankly, they didn't get my lenses cut properly, and my vision was compromised. Both pairs of glasses I got from David are stylish, and I see better than ever. The other team members, including Alan and Julie, were also great to work with. You can tell that I am a huge fan of this shop, having just discovered it last month. Also, when I picked up my glasses, I saw another happy customer who also looked great in her frames. If you need new glasses or sunglasses, this is the place to go!

I highly recommend Eye Works Vision Care Center located at 16818 Georgia Avenue in Olney, MD. I happened across the store in the Fall 2024 and was beyond impressed with the extensive collection of frames. Took my husband to the shop in December 2025 and the first frame that the shop's founder David Richards recommended proved to be perfect! I personally returned to the shop last week as I broke my frames. They were able to pop my old lenses into a new frame to carry me thru. I was able to secure an appointment at the shop a couple of days later with Dr. Grinstead. Thanks again to the the Eye Works Vision Care team!

Eye Works has hands down the best service around. I went to several other stores in the area and chose Eye Works because of the excellent service. David is amazing. The turn-around on my new lenses was the fastest available. In addition, for a very small fee David was able to fit the lenses from my broken glasses into some old frames to use as my back up glasses and hold me over until my new ones arrived. I can't believe he was able to breathe life back into my old favorites and polish them up to look like new. He is so helpful! Also the optometrist, Dr Grinstead, is the best. She explained the reason behind my light-sensitive eyes that no one else has ever mentioned. And did the best ever prescription for me. She helped me find contact lenses that worked as well, which another optician had not been able to do so now I can choose to wear glasses or contacts. I'm so happy.

I had a really great experience at Eyeworks and got some wonderful glasses by Kliik that I just love. David was so helpful and nice and they have the best selection of stylish frames I have seen around! I love this store!

Edit: David called me and explained that the reason it took a while to get my glasses was due to insurance, and this makes sense. He also apologized for taking a while to send me my prescription, and I appreciate that. The only thing is that another eyeglass place found that the sunglasses that Eye Works made for me didn't match my prescription. David offered some explanations. Frankly speaking, I'm not completely sure which eyeglass place may be at fault but I appreciate the fact that David reached out and wanted to make things right. Original: The prescription they sent me doesn't match the sunglasses they made. I found this from another eyeglass place. The other eyeglass place made me a pair of glasses based on the prescription from this place, but I encountered the issue of double vision. This happened four months since I got the prescription. Then they checked my prescription and the sunglasses I got from this place, and found they don't match, especially there is a significant difference regarding astigmatism. It's highly likely that this place sent me the wrong prescription. There are other issues as well. When I called to get a copy of my prescription, it took me three weeks and several calls to eventually get it. Also, it took them almost a month to make my glasses, whereas the other place I found only took three days.

Every associate was friendly & professional. 1 star off for not telling me a fee of over $8 for using charge card and telling me dilation was $40. I was charged $49. Experience overall was great! Glasses arrived within a week! Yay!!
