Excellent service. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate every need. The technicians were so kind and helpful.I particularly loved talking to Wendy! She was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable being there. Great selection of frames as well as sunglasses. Purchased new glasses following the exam. Both pairs are a perfect fit and I received a lot of compliments on the frames. Will definitely come back. Highly recommend.

They were able to fit me as a emergency appt because I was seeing flashing lights. I was in and out with an a hour thank goodness all was fine. I even called them hours later for a work note and got that emailed to me with in minutes. Thank you to the Dr's and staff that took great care of me today

Not a place I would recommend. 1.5 hour wait. Lunch break for many perhaps. Customer/medical eye service didn't seem a high priority. Went somewhere else. Puzzled how Medical Eye Center, Olney, MD survived as long. Fortunate for me there was accessible, and importantly, more competent medical eye service.

I have employee insurance and this was an in-network facility. First, they got a first prescription wrong on the left eye. Fortunately, they owned up to the mistake and redid the exam and will provide a new left lens as the original pair were paid for. With my insurance I have added benefits, when attempting to use the benefit I was flat out denied. The staff condescendingly told me that those such benefits don't exist and I would need to pay full price. After some back and forth I asked they contact my insurance to which the response was "sorry we don't do that here." I called my insurance explained the situation and they gave me an authorization number. I relay to the staff to which they respond that doesn't mean anything to me I need a fax. Ok, I was still on the line so I tell my insurance rep who asks to speak with the staff so they talk on my cell phone. The insurance rep agrees to send a fax. The staff member hangs up the phone on them and then asks me to leave the office because their office manager is not in and is the only one who can approve it when the fax comes in. The following week they leave a voice mail they never received a fax. I call my insurance company again and I stay on the line and confirm a fax was sent before I end the call. The rep also confirmed I don't need a fax just to give the authorization number. So I call MEC and speak to the staff who still states they didn't receive a fax, so I tell them they just need the authorization number I tried to give them the week before. She takes the number then states the office manager isn't in maybe she will be in the next day to see if they will take it. Terrible customer service the only bright side maybe is the doctors seemed really nice and were professional.

I had such a difficult time getting samples of different contact lenses and information (especially on a deadline). Save your time and go to the Columbia medical eye center office. The staff is nice, welcoming, and most importantly professional.

Kind staff but HORRIBLE wait times. They warn you that appointments take 1-1.5 hours but be warned that at least half of that time is spent waiting in a chair. Bring something to read Update: 3 years later and nothing has changed. Extremely unprofessional to keep patients waiting so long. A routine eye exam taking two hours is absurd

Called this morning, was put on hold for 10 minutes and gave up. Called back later saying I had an eye infection and was in a great deal of pain, was told nothing was available until next week. I said it takes less than 5 minutes to check for infection and it really hurt, but the receptionist said no double booking. Called another eye doctor where I had never been, they took me almost immediately. Not a good place if you ever have a serious issue.

A few years ago I had unexplained visual disturbances and came here. They noticed an irregularity and got me in to the neuro-opthalmologist at Johns Hopkins. They spent a good hour of their time calling around until they were sure they found me appropriate follow up care. Highly recommend.
