I have known Dr Hsieh since high school.
He is caring and knowledgeable and experienced.
Absolutely phenomenal experience with Dr. Hsieh. No, I cannot pronounce his name but he is one of the best physicians I have ever worked with, and I've worked with a lot. I had Panoptix lenses put in while I was in Kentucky and needed a follow-up for a yag treatment. This is absolutely common for cataract surgery. Even though I wasn't a pre-existing patient, his staff got me on the schedule a few weeks out from when I called (you can email but I suggest you just go ahead and call). From the moment I walked in to the office until I left, it was an easy process. The doctor was affable and his expertise was obvious. He did my yag treatment immediately and my vision has been perfect since! I walked to the front, paid for my treatment (which was less than expected!), and may never see him again. Which is unfortunate because, if I were a permanent resident in the area looking for a great ophthamologist, this would be the guy I choose. You should too! I cannot recommend him enough!
Been calling for over a week for an appointment, finally spoke with the answering service that sent message through
Lady called back, very rude cutting me off while explaining, I've been there twice, 1st for a surgery, doctor put too much pressure they said and I had to go to the ER, and come back the following day for adjustment,
Then I came in for eye glasses and the prescription wasn't right, while explaining she kept cutting me off rudely, giving me advice on what to do next time, should have given those advice before leaving the last time
I like the doctor but I hate rudeness .
I plan on going in, just to see if you will be ready de in person,
DO NO EXPECT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE. The staff will have you going round and round and wast your time and your child will not get their prescription when needed. Dr. Robert Hsieh is a great doctor. He cares very much about his patient. However the front office staff are rude and do not give patient proper information because they are always in a hurry to get rid of patient so that they can talk about their personal activities. As my daughter gets older she were developing poor vision and we were refer to Dr. Hsieh by our family doctor for over 20 years. When we made the first appointment for my daughter to see Dr. Hsieh the office staff that I spoke with over the phone was harsh. She spoke quickly and hang up the phone. She did not even give me a chance to ask any questions. I really thought that they may be very busy because the doctor is so good that they are trying to keep up with patients appointment. But when I went to the appointment I signed in and was to told to take a seat and wait to be called. I sat there about an hour only to listen to the office staff talk about their personal business. We moved from Prince Georges County and wanted to see Dr. Hsieh because he gave my daughter her first prescription, so I made an appointment and drove two hours to get to the office on time. Only to be told by the office staff that we needed an referral. When I asked why I was not told this at the time I made the appointment. The office staff said that, " Its not our job to tell you that you need a referral". I was taken by surprise and we walk right out of the office. We will never refer anyone to this office. There are many good caring eye doctors with polite staff out there.
Heres my experience: Dr Heisch is originally from China and has photos of many lovely trips hes taken on his walls. His staff is polite. He loves to make the same dumb jokes to patients because he seems to think they like it. Whatever. He will leave you waiting in the room while he jokes with people and disrespectfully disregards patients time in exam rooms. Heres the highly unethical part as we caught him in his fake diagnosis and fake surgery on my eye. I went in because there was a sensation that something was in my eye. He looked in my eye and said that there was an "old bump" inside and that he would stick a needle in it to drain it. I thought that was odd since my eyes are extremely healthy. He never washed his hands or put on gloves or cleaned the equipment. After he did the needle thing, he gave me antibiotic drops. I called his office to speak with him about 3 days later because it still felt like something was in my eye, and his receptionist told me that he said he won't speak to me and that he said there was nothing more he could do with it. I was shocked! What kind doctor does that? Anyway, I ended up going to 4 more eye doctors and none of them could see anything in my eye whatsoever. Finally, knowing i wasnt crazy, I, all by myself, found the problem. I had to pull my top lid way up and roll my eye down in the mirror. I finally saw this large spec sitting on top of my eyeball way in the back of the eyeball. When I got to the 5th eye specialist, I showed her, and she used forceps to easily pull out the item. It was a piece of hard dried out black eyeliner that had mysteriously logged itself in my eyeball. After a year of suffering, I was finally free from pain. Here's where I caught dr heisch lying. Before I went to the new doctors and specialist, I called his office and requested via email my medical records so that I could provide the history of what Heisch did to the next dr. The receptionist stated that the notes did not mention the bump in my eye or the surgery heisch did with the needle AT ALL. I thought that very odd that a dr doesnt provide notes when he performs surgery in a persons eye?He then decided to call me and makeup some bull about the "bump". I didnt buy it. Mind you he never put it in writing because we feel there never was a bump in my eye. That's why he didn't put it in the notes at all but billed my insurance for over 500 dollars for "surgery". That's why I still had the feeling of something in my eye after he did what he did because it wasn't true. And that's why he refused to speak with me when I called him 2-3 days after his "surgery" to tell him that his surgery didn't work. The foreign object in my eye was missed by every doctor. No one could see it because they werent looking in that way back part of my eye. Thats what the specialist told me, "it could be missed." So all drs told me they couldnt find anything and that it may be dry eye. All except dr Heisch who was the 2nd of 5 drs that I tried. he didnt find the foreign object either, he made up a "bump" in order to stick a needle in my eye for "surgery". What a sick person. He uses his medical knowledge and fake jokes to commit fraud on patients and insurance. Remember: doctors are in business to make money and every extra thing they say you need gets them more and more cash. They're not all honest. Be careful with this one. He's a pro.
I had cataract surgery on both my eyes with Dr. Hsieh, and he was outstanding, I did not have any pain and he was both professional and proficient. I love Dr. Robert Hsieh.
