Just had new glasses made at Americas Best in Silver Spring, Md. As they always have for the last 10 years or more they gave me outstanding service at a reasonable price. What a pleasure to deal with these nice people. Great exam- not rushed - by Dr Gold and wonderful service by the counter staff. What a joy to read easily again. Even the tiny print. They have always treated my family and me with courtesy and professionalism.

A very good experience! All of the employees were pleasant and helpful, and Dr. Gold is very personable, educational and thorough. After I told him I had been to Haiti, he gave me an extra test for retinal sun damage. Two pairs of glasses with the exam was very reasonable. (Note: Glasses are not available the same day (7-10 days average). Mine came in in 5 days. But it is worth the wait. Just plan ahead.) I used the online appointment scheduler, which worked perfectly. Everything was set up before I got there. I would recommend America's Best to anyone who does not need same day glasses.

I guess people do tend to write reviews when they have bad experiences more than when things go really well. But my visit was smooth right from the moment I called to schedule the appointment to me walking out the store with my prescriptions. The staff was nice and Dr Gold was great.

Worst experience at an eyeglass store ever that started the moment I walked in the door ready to purchase eyeglasses. Not one of the four workers there said hello to me or asked me if I needed anything. When I spoke up and told them I wanted to try on some eyeglasses, one of the girls responded "do your thing." Really? That's how you talk to a customer? Then when I asked if they had any other designer glasses I could check out like Kate Spade for instance the woman proceeded to laugh in my face with her other coworker as if they had an inside joke and responded "No, we don't have that." I left shortly after and will not be returning. Thanks for nothing.

Horrible. They must have adolescents grinding their glasses. I took mine back 4 different times - they still don't have them right. Now I'm being told they won't correct/refund my glasses because it is outside the timeframe - totally ignoring that they have "corrected" the glasses 4 times already. The managers, Cora and James, will not return calls. Frustrated - you bet. Expensive waste of money.
