I went to the Gardner office multiple times and overlooked the phone check-in, poor parking availability, and that they were never on time for scheduled appointments. I didn't mind paying more for glasses because I liked their selection and quality. However, I got a call in July to schedule an appointment but was told that the earliest date was 12-14-25. I thought it was some kind of mistake, and said that was unacceptable, (expecting to schedule an appointment in another office), but instead the person just hung up on me. I thought it was an accidental disconnect, and tried calling back, but it turned out that their schedule was backed up. So I helped to relieve the problem by finding another optician.
I haven't used the ophthalmology side of the house yet, but the eye wear sales and service side is excellent, especially if you prefer that rather finicky Silhouette brand.
Honestly the doctors and everyone in the offices are all very pleasant. However, the organization needs some help. My information has been lost, my appointments have gone undocumented, I have been asked if I'm new...when I've been going here for over a year. Please staff your desks with the proper help. The people who are here are great but clearly you do not have enough help.
Compassionate, effective eyecare. Easy to find and get an appointment.
I've been going here for years, but I am done. The doctors are great, customer service is terrible. Today I was made to wait in my 89 degree car for half an hour while trying to complete their phone check in process, kept being transferred to an extension where no one picked up. Also, my Primary Care faxed in the referral last week but they said they didn't have it (same thing happened at my last appointment). Called my PC, they sent it again, called to check if it had been received, was told to check back in a few days. There was nobody working at the Acton front desk for me to talk to. Ended up canceling the appointment (after driving an hour)
Do not go here. They are awful.
Dr. Bin Wu and his staff are extremely professional and very personable. He listens to what I say and tells me directly what he finds from his examination on the pressure and films he sees.
I continue to drive from the far end of Boston to Acton and Lancaster to remain his patient.
I am incredibly disappointed by how D'Ambrosio Eye Care is treating me. I have insurance but they did not ask to take down the correct information from me and missed the billing time. Now I am charged with a bill for a 5 minute visit. I will be filing a report with Better Business Bureau for this kind of practice. I repeatedly offered to send a copy of my insurance card information and was refused. It's hard for me to believe a doctor's office refused to verify a patient's insurance and then charge the patient the full amount for a 5 minutes doctor visit.
My husband had a scheduled appt in Acton this morning and had a horrible encounter with the receptionist. After checking in via their main phone line (connects to their Lancaster office) and being told to wait in his car until someone from the Acton office called back to let him know it was ok to come in, he sat there for over 20 minutes. It was an 8:20am appt, no reason to be running so late already.
He got out of his car while calling the Acton office directly, and the receptionist ran out (past the ringing phone right next to her), yelled at him to hang up, get back in his car, and call back again. He politely pointed out that the ringing phone in the office was HIS CALL, however she yelled again that he needed to hang up, get in his car, and call back. It was so chaotic that he walked away and rescheduled his appt via the Lancaster office for a different day and time. Huge waste of a morning and he's never going back there.
