Costco Optical Department

Charpell always does a horrible job with customer service. He closes early by 15 mins and will be on his computer, ignoring you. He'll have his headphones in as well. TOTALLY unprofessional. I was told to bring a slip so it's easier to identify, he didn't do so and then got annoyed having so asked my name. He also gave me a DIRT covered cover and flipped his eyes This has happened over three times. I won't come back here, compared to other stores.

Worst ever experience with contacts. I went in for the first five for a contacts prescription and was not helped much with putting in my contacts. The ophthalmologist totally ignored the fact that I'm struggling with getting them on. Told me to come in with contacts on for a prescription which I have been unable to do and hence have not received a prescription yet 3 months after my initial appointment. Very disappointed with the service...

I visited this office for a contact lens exam to obtain a prescription, and while the initial vision test went fine, my experience quickly turned very negative once it came time to try on contact lenses. Since I haven't worn contacts in several years, I was a little rusty with the process, after all it is not very easy to stick something in your eye. Instead of patiently guiding me, the doctor became visibly impatient and condescending. When I struggled to remove the lenses in a few minutes, she simply sat back and let me continue on my own, and after I finally removed the lenses, I assumed--since they were daily disposables and no one had told me otherwise--that I could discard them. The doctor suddenly scolded me, asking "What did you do?" She then made an exasperated "huffing" noise and told me I had to put them back in my eyes. When I asked if there were any additional tests, she said no, but that I needed to keep practicing insertion and removal and that she would give me four more pairs to practice with at home before providing my prescription. This interaction left me shocked. Not only was her tone rude and condescending, but it was unreasonable to expect me to reuse a pair I had already discarded, especially when she never informed me ahead of time that I would need to keep them. The way she handled the situation was unprofessional and made me feel belittled, rather than supported as a patient/customer. This was by far one of the most unpleasant experiences I've had with any eye doctor, and I would not recommend this office based on the way I was treated.

I had a wonderful experience purchasing eyeglass frames at the Costco Optical in Everett. Their selection is good, their prices are fantastic, and John B. was exceptional in advising me about the different types of prescription lenses available. (I went there on a weekday shortly after the club opened at 10 AM, which was a good choice since the optical department wasn't that busy yet).

Given that glasses and lenses are so expensive I have purchased my glasses here for the last 3 years. At any other place I would spend at least $300-$500 out of pocket even with insurance. At Costco optical I can always get my lens and frame for under $200. And then, applying my insurance, it's about $120 total out of pocket. And I am always 100% satisfied. It's a no-brainer!

They have no idea how insurance works are made me pay and said I was eligible for an exam that was covered however I wasn't as it hadn't been 12 months. I asked 5 times to make sure and she just got annoyed and ended up being wrong too.i don't even think she was the doctor

My visit wasn't recently, it was about a year ago, and I forgot to post my review for the horrendous service my family and I received. The optometrist that services us wasn't even an optometrist, according to everything there she was an assistant, and the actual doctor wasn't present. I was scheduled for 8am, and I was there on time; she arrived at approximately 8:30am and was rude because supposedly it was our fault that she can't commit to be at work on time. Secondly, my parents don't speak English fluently and my dad is deaf from one ear, so we have to speak loudly so he can't hear. I went with both of the to translate, but this assistant optometrist was so rude with them. first because their appointment was later on, but she was late, and she was running behind. Unfortunately that is not our fault. With my dad, especially, she was offensive and impolite, as I was translating for him and he couldn't look at me, some things he didn't understand; she would move his head strongly onto the equipment when he was taking longer than what she thought it was normal to do so. She would scream at them even if I translated something and they didn't quite understand. I will never go back to the Everett Costco Eye Center, they're older and they deserve to be treated with respect, we weren't even asking her for a favor, we were paying for our visit and the minimum you can ask for is someone that is respectful with the elderly.

This person scared me during my eye exam she checked the eye pressures and over and over again and she jumped back all alarmed and said my eye pressures were quite elevated like 28 and 29! I was urged to go to an emergency visit and I asked her to contact a specialist to examine me she was going to make some calls the next day it was already late in day. I was very concerned and actually lost sleep worrying I had glaucoma!?? I went immediately to the hospital in the morning for and emergency visit the numbers were not elevated the way she determined! My left eye number like six months earlier was 23 the right eye no elevation! In less than 16 hours?! The doctor did not concour with the previous findings! I did not hear back from the Costco doctor about the specialist appointment or to check on me how I am doing?! Nothing the next day nothing for the whole week nothing no follow up no concern when I walked out her door! I came back the following week to pick up my glasses and stopped in to see her for a minute she did not know even who I was! Awful!! I reminded her as I am reminding you all stay away from this place for eye exams a waste of $75 and sleep! Awful patient care and treatment Big Thumbs down!
