Meijer Optical

I have been going to Meijer Optical for years. However, I will NOT be returning. In November 2025 I went to Meijer Optical to get an eye exam and order my new glasses. I called weeks later regarding my glasses and I got told "Do not call us we will call you" so in December I went into the store inquiring about my glasses and was informed they had to be sent back and I would be waiting 4-6 weeks for my glasses. In January I went in because I never heard anything. My glasses were going to take another 4-6 weeks due to the lab messing up. Moral of the story is, you will get an excellent eye exam BUT it will be 3-4 months before you actually get your glasses. I DO NOT recommend Meijer Optical for your optical choice.

I visited Meijer Optical for the first time today and it was a great experience! All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Virginia is the nicest person you could meet and she actually helped me SAVE money! The doctor is very comforting and so good at explaining everything. She never made me feel rushed the way most doctors seem to. And the man, I think his name is Joseph, was friendly as well. As someone who gets a little nervous when visiting doctors, this was a comfortable and positive experience! Would recommend.

My daughter has gone to the Meijer Optical for the past 3 years for an annual check up and they are all so amazing there. They call and remind us to make our appointment and their staff is so friendly and remember my daughter by name. Such a wonderful experience every time!!

I didn't know Meijer had actual eye doctors. My expectations were exceeded. Virginia was great, very helpful over the phone and in person with setting up an appointment, figuring out my insurance info, and helping me find the right glasses. Doctor was really great, he was more thorough than any eye doctor I've been to before. I will be back for a contact exam in the near future!

I had a great experience at the Birch Rin Meijer optical. It's always been a struggle for me to find glasses due to my round face. I wear a size 57 & they are not easy to come by. I stopped in one day and met Virginia who was very helpful & understood my predicament. On that specific day there wasn't much of a selection in the size I needed, but Virginia said she would let me know when some came in. Virginia was good to her word and let me know when the glasses had arrived. There was a nice selection of about 10 pair which is amazing. I can't say enough of how appreciative I am to Virginia for all her help & patience helping me get a proper fitting & stylish pair of glasses. Thank You!

I would recommend going elsewhere for an exam. I have perfect vision and yet they recommended I wear glasses after the exam anyway. From the very beginning, before the exam ever took place they spoke with certainty that I would need glasses. Not IF, I would need them. 20/20 vision and still recommends glasses. Make it make sense. They may be fine for buying glasses, but go somewhere else for an exam.

My wife, Geneva, picked up our glasses and contacts today. They came in sooner than expected, which is great! She told me that they remembered her from the appointment and knew right away what she was there for. She believes it was Joseph and Virginia that greeted her. She was very happy that Joseph took the time to clean and inspect the glasses before giving them to her. She even tried her new ones on and walked out of the store wearing them. We will be recommending this place to family and friends when they need their eyes checked up on! However, she did let me know that Joseph's fiancee still has not watched Star Wars. Such a shame....

My husband and I received amazing service here today! Our benefits were explained fully to us and the doctor was fantastic in figuring out what we needed. We did not feel pressured into anything. We took their recommendations since they provided great service. Definitely will be coming here for our vision needs from now on. Very kind and funny staff! Side note, tell your fiancee that she is missing out on a great franchise by not watching Star Wars!!
