Eye Clinics of Michigan

A few years back this business was owned by a doctor. He has since so his practice to a corporation. By doing that it placed me out of network. I hadn't been here since the practice was sold but when I came here 10 months ago I guess I assumed my insurance was still good because no one in the office mentioned that I DIDN'T have insurance anymore, which is the first thing a medical practice of any kind ask you about. So I got stuck with a bill of over $400. Came back numerous times and talked to the help behind the counter and they repeatedly told me that the office manager would call me, needless to say they did not. So today I came in and paid my bill but left as a very unhappy patient and a patient they will NEVER see again. If the office manager would have just called me like I was told several times that they would things might be different. If you were a patient here before and you plan on coming back please check and make sure your insurance is still good here.

PLEASE AVOID- especially if you are elderly or need extra care. *unorganized *ill-prepared *not conscience of other's time *hipaa privacy concerns I completed all paperwork online as asked. Uploaded all ids online as asked. Katie called me the DAY BEFORE my appointment (with her front desk lead Lindsay Baughman in the background giving direction as to what needed to be accomplished, she used a condescending tone the entire discussion) Emailed my referral as asked. Printed out my referral as asked and arrived 34 minutes early to my appointment. My apt time was scheduled for 1240pm. At 1243pm Katie at the front desk asked me for my referral. I asked if they had not received the email she stated no. Unfortunately no one reached out to tell me this at ANY point prior to my scheduled apt. I came prepared with the referral printed as a back up. I presented the printed out referral she stated this is not the referral they need. A referral with medically billable codes is needed (I have several years experience with medical billing) I pointed on the form to the codes present.... directly on the referral printed from my physician. Katie stated she was unable to ask her front desk lead Lindsay for assistance as she was on lunch. As I'm typing this is is 124pm. I have been here over an hour and no sign of Lindsay . Katie has been by herself this entire time. I gave Katie the phone number for my physicians office to allow her to call them herself directly to obtain a referral that works for their company policy showing the codes needed. Unfortunately she initially called my phone number which gives me hipaa concerns that we're not looking at phone numbers before reaching out to obtain information. I then had to give my physicians phone number 4 times in a row before she was able to successfully call them. I offered to write it down for her after the 4th instance. She then began calling my physicians office ON SPEAKER PHONE IN FRONT OF THE LOBBY asking for my chart notes to be faxed over. I did not authorize this so I stopped her mid call to ask her to discontinue the request as I did not agree to a release of information. She discontinued the call at this time (118pm). It is now 126pm. I have not seen a physician and I have been in the lobby since 12:12pm. What I have gathered so far is that Katie is new to her daily tasks and has had ZERO help from her front desk lead to be her best, most educated self for patient care. Incredibly disappointed. Like most people I took off work to be here, costing me money. Definitely not paying a copay towards this business. Again, please avoid.

Zero stars if possible. My elderly grandfather who has mobility issues has been waiting since 9:15 to see the doctor, and they didn't take him back until 11. When they prepared an injection they did not wear gloves, even while giving the injection. The staff has been rude and talking/complaining about patients loudly, which is a HIPPA violation. The front waiting room is covered in dust and cobwebs. This place is unsanitary, unprofessional, and not safe to visit. Please avoid.

Had an appointment this morning and was under the impression I'd be able to pay copay using care credit, which you can as its shown to be an acceptable form of payment at the front desk. However upon attempting to pay with my care credit card was told repeatedly that no one knew how to do it and the girl helping me didn't want to bother anyone who knew how as if it the whole thing was my fault. Probably shouldn't say you take care credit if there is no one at the front desk competent enough to actually figure out how to charge it. Other than that everything here is great

I had to come in to get a chalazion removed this morning, I was really nervous about the procedure but Dr. Gupta and all of the nurses were so kind and personable and made sure I was comfortable. I will be switching to them for my yearly eye exams as well due to how great my experience was today. I would recommend this office to anyone!

Came in for an eye infection and they somehow didn't have the appointment a ER made for us. Then told us rudely that there wasn't any ophthalmologist there even though there's a sign that says there are multiple in the building and couldn't make an appointment til tomorrow which we took off work today to go there. They even wouldn't call any other locations for us to see if there were any openings for today, they just had us call. Found an appointment somewhere else. Overall not helpful and rude. Never will go there again.

No star if possible. Absolutely horrible treatment. Requested an appointment within a certain timeframe and they cancelled it without any assistance in rescheduling. Staff called and were laughing at me for requesting to be seen earlier. The cancellation came late and they would not accommodate helping me with my condition

All the doctors there are excellent. Dr. Kamal Gupta MD is such a terrific Doctor, he has the best bedside manor I have ever seen in a Dr. I just love this man, he makes you feel so at ease about a procedure, I highly recommend him! I never liked to let anyone near my eyes but I trust him with my life! My mom sees him and receives injections in her eyes and she said she never has felt any pain! She just loves him she has seen him for at least 30 years and will continue to do so. I don't feel you will ever regret seeing Dr. Gupta I don't normally write reviews like this but people should know about Dr.Gupta and feel confident in doing so.
