Clarkson Eyecare

The exam portion of my visit was fine, Dr. Akers was thorough & did a good job educating. My rating is based on how I was treated (or wasn't) during my glasses shopping experience. When asked after my visit if I wanted to purchase contacts, I advised I was going to purchase glasses. She told me to look around. I was looking for about 30 minutes, picked out a few I liked, but nobody ever said another word to me so I walked out without buying anything. Yes, I could've went & asked them to help, but the woman walked right past me a couple of times & never offered, she said absolutely nothing & I find that to be very poor service. Your job is to sell glasses, you'd think you'd try to assist people with that process without having to be asked. Mind you, I was the only person in there so it's not that they were busy helping others. In fact, her & her coworker were having a conversation at one point about how much they like days when they have nothing to do the last couple hours of the day. I had always had great experiences with Clarkson prior (mine was a Delta Vision & privately owned before they were bought out by Clarkson) & was a long time patient with them. Last year, I had to visit the Haslett location because the Okemos one had closed, but the doctor & some staff were the same ones from Okemos. My experience last year was fine, now those people all seem to be gone & this years visit determined that I will never go back to Clarkson. I don't shop where I'm ignored, there are too many other options.

Very detailed examination! Updated technology, covering many eye situations. The optometrist at the Haslett office is very professional, & knowledgeable. I am recommending anyone to him.

This place discriminates against single dads, went in for my sons eye appointment and was exactly 9 minutes late. They seen i had two young toddlers getting them out with me and still would not see me. The manager is horrible with no personality and a attitude. Then when you show up on time they make you wait 20 mins to get called back. I will say the doctor is very kind but that's the only thing good about this place. They should really roll back cameras and look at the time. She calls back and has the nerve to ask when we won't have our other kids. sorry they aren't in school and i don't have parents and hers our dead and we have to take care of our children and work ridiculous.

Very pleased with the eye exam and thorough explanation of my results. Very good experience overall.

I'm not to sure what doctor I saw here, but I didn't like him and he wasn't willing to take the time to answer my questions. He wasn't wanting to look at my eyes when I told him I was in risk, of going blind in my eyes. I came here because I was having pain in my eyes, and black floaters. He looked at my eyes by shining a light into my eyes, and claiming I had a "infection" in my eyes when I just saw another eye doctor but had to be let go because of my insurance. He sent a cream into my pharmacy and when I went to use it, it made my eye pain HURT WORSE. I went back a month later and the person that answered the phone, was rude from the start and seemed like she was having a bad day. She got me scheduled and I went back, the doctor told me my "eyes were extremely dry" nothing about the "infection" I had. I did the eye drops and it just made everything worse. I don't understand why the doctor was not willing to answer any of my questions of look in my eyes, when I told him my vision had changed. But I could tell the doctor was just seeing me for the money and his paycheck. The people at the front desk were really nice people but the doctor NO. I'm not sure how this office has such good, ratings but I didn't like it here. I will not be back anytime soon. I would recommend going elsewhere.

The process of checking in, waiting and getting my eyes checked with both the doctor and the technician was very smooth! Everyone in the office was friendly, patient and a great experience.

After the branch in Three Rivers closed down suddenly right after i received my order they helped me update my lenses due to them not being ordered correctly the first time. Everyone was extremely kind, and everything was done by phone and mail so that I didn't have to make the extended drive. If I were closer this would be my go to office, highly recommended!
