Great Lakes Eye Care

Pleasant staff from checking in, to be taken to the back to be seen. Yes the wait time IS lesser at this office, than the St. Joseph office on Niles Road, but you get the same courteous service, at both locations.. Yes we waited an hour before my husband was called back, but what place of business isn't short staffed, and procedures don't always go 100% on time.... I would still give them a 10 out of 10 rating..

The ones handling my eye injection were quite unfriendly and didn't like that I asked questions. Had somewhat of an attitude towards me asking. I asked about the document I signed which was given to me in short verbal form at first to sign so I didn't get to read it in advance for the new medicine and treatment. I asked about side effects prior to injection and was somewhat told that it wasn't any different. After injection for 1 minutes I lost vision in my eye that was injected and never informed that could happen. I thought I went blind in that eyes and they seemed unconcerned and was scolded for rubbing my eye( supposedly hard due to numbing and not knowing the difference) after this fact as the implied cause. I don't numb well anyways so the injection hurts varying levels every time. So the attitudes ton me was very disappointing even though I was thankful and the attitude towards me persisted during. Add on 6/19/25 Had another bad visit. I am adding to this because I wanted told the receptionist, but me asking to tell them not to dig my eye out was an issue with her. Also, I got my intelligence insulted by her, but I knew what my next appointment was supposed to be and was able to explain to her. But the guy practically dug my eye out and expected me to look right. Pressed so hard I couldn't see nad it hurt with the numbing drops. I was tempted to walk out mid appointment. Im just having to many negative experiences at this place. I mean another appointment before the original post I had head rest falling with the needle in my eye already was not great also luckily I was able to hold my head still. Will update if I keep going and something else happens.

First time here with my twelve year old daughter and was very impressed. The staff was amazing, Dr. Tolsma was very friendly and took excellent care of my daughter. He even made us laugh a few times. We normally visit a different office but we will both be switching to this office. From start to finish great experience!

Dr. Ensor is a caring and compassionate physician. She took the time to answer all of my questions and was very thorough in her approach to my challenges. I never felt rushed and felt valued as a patient. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Seward is unlike any other doctor. He takes time to explain things and he allows you to ask questions. When I had a procedure done he called me at home to see how I was doing. He should teach other doctors how to treat patients. He's a one of a kind!

I appreciate Dr. Brown and have respected him for years. Yesterday I met Jennifer and want to commend you all for adding her to your staff at Long Meadow. She took time to explain things in a wonderful manner. Thank you

Dr. Seward is the one of the best eye surgeons I have had. The giant negative is that he is chronically late with his patients. This was NOT the first time I had to wait for more than 2 hours for him to come and do his exam. I really like him, but I will not tolerate a doctor that schedules appointments and does not keep timely schedules.

Everybody was very friendly and helpful from Chelsea that made the appointment all the way up to Dr. Pletcher that did the follow up at the Niles office
