Sam's Club Optical Center

I was given a 1:00pm appt on Thursday 7/31 over the phone. I arrived for my appt. and was told their Dr. was on maternity leave. I hope others have better luck, but be sure to call ahead.

I have been using Sam's Optical for a while now, and I must report on Service, mainly Jim! He is just simply the BEST! It seem like I was taking forever to select frames. He was so kind and said take your time I am here to help. And help he did, very nice and knowledgeable! Answered all my questions. Thank You Jim!!

I initially wanted a year's supply of contact lenses and they did not have them in stock. The lady would not let me buy what she had in store and place an order for the rest. As a result, it has been three months and I need more lenses but I cannot get them because they are never open when they are supposed to be. I have visited the store four times in the last week. Been out of lenses for three days now and squinting even as I write this review in their parking lot...all bad, would not recommend

Do not buy your glasses at Sam's Club, very poor customer service. I recently purchased a pair of glasses with progressive lens and had to take back to store three times I was told the frames I chose were improper for my prescription. I found another frame and they were more money which I had no problem paying the additional cost but explained to the Technician I had purchased two sets of clip on glasses which I no longer have the receipts for at Walmart because they were cheaper and requested if they could provide me with a new clip on sunglasses and her answer was do you expect Sam's Club to pay for your clip on sunglasses. I told her yes because I purchased the clip on sunglasses not expecting to have to return my glasses to Sam's Club because the prescription wasn't proper She still was not willing to make any effort at all to assist me, she never even called the manager of the store to talk with him, she just said they won't do anything for me.

Went to pick up an already paid for set of contacts. The clerk was waiting for a customer to pick out and try on her frames...the customer was in no hurry. The clerk looked at me and with a big disappointed sigh said it was going to be a while....30 minutes later she gets to me and says okay your next.. .my interaction was 45 secods tops. She could have handled my interaction while she was waiting for the customer for 15 minutes. Bare minimum service with and attitude. I will be going to Costco in the future.

I didn't think it was possible to have a bad experience at an eye exam, been doing it for 30 years, seems pretty simple, but yet...the women at the Southgate Sam's optical center managed to make it a terrible experience. The older white lady with the blonde/gray hair was rude and unprofessional to everyone that approached her including an elderly gentleman that was there to inquire about a warranty. She must of been raised by mean Rottweiler guard dogs, because that's the equivalent to how she treated people. Then Marie, who seemed nice initially, only to become argumentative and even downright disrespectful as the appointment went on. But aside from terrible customer service, what's really sad, is their "new" system and "new" lab they deal with now, doesn't give the option to order any type of the high index lenses if your prescription is stronger than -4.00. If you have a -4.25 or stronger and want better lenses other than the cheap heavy thick plastic, then better save your time and money and go elsewhere, because they can't do anything for you here. Sounds pretty dumb and unbelievable, right? Yeah, I thought so too. But that's what Marie told us, so guess what? I Called a different Sam's club and found out that Marie is just totally ignorant and/or incompetent because the other Sam's club Optical manager informed me that you can absolutely get high index lenses for strong prescriptions, at any location, up to a -10, with their new system!! Oh yeah, and good luck trying to get all the info you need to order lenses on your own from an online website because Marie acted like I was asking her to give up a body part when I asked for the PD# that's required to order lenses online. She wanted to argue over it. I had to ask to speak to the manager, and guess what??? The manager instantly said yeah Give her the PD# because they couldn't sell me the lenses!! Obviously she drives a broom stick to work!! How ya like those apples Marie?!?!? All that attitude, wasting time being mean instead of being helpful -which is YOUR job - and you were wrong after all!! Stop driving your broom stick to work!! Good riddance! First time here at this optical center and sure Won't ever deal with this location again!! And after seeing this is the 5th review they have and the other 4 were negative too, this place seriously needs some new staff!!

I was having issues with my glasses while traveling, stopped in and Jim helped me. He was so nice and said it would be an easy quick fix. Great service! Thanks Jim

I tried to buy a pear of glasses, I told them that I already have a prescription in my phone and asked if I can just email it to them but they refused and said it had to be in paper only. They could have printed it with their printer but they made no effort to be even slightly professional, in fact they were rude and me feel unwelcome, like I was a stranger at their house not in a public place.
