I want to thank my DR .. Dr aggerwal he is my life saver id give him infinity stars if I could. . I highly recommend.. also I want to thank Amanda she held my hand in the surgery room. . Amy amanda Bridget.. Dr Jones.. Ginger and brad ... ThAnk you for being amazing to me .. the warm blankets .. the understanding and care you showed me ill never forget you. I recently had my cataract surgery with Dr Switch. I have been very happy with my overall experience. Melanie was with me the most and she was very kind and supportive which helped ease my nerves. Liz was also great and professional. I would definitely return as needed.

Billing is BAD. Dr.Gupta was excellent may be in network. But, this place where he does the surgery isn't. You find out two days before your eye surgery when you and your loved one has taken the day off work to be here. Their not prompt with doing pre authorization. Not to mention you've brought the medication already that's not cheap even with your copay to start taking the day before the surgery that's required. I've phoned and asked how much is the surgery if I pay out of pocket over $ 2,000.00. I think that's how they make their money here. Another reviewer was right. Their billing sucks. Must do your homework and make sure this location is in your network first, if you have health insurance. Never heard of a doctor in network and their surgery center isn't. smh :( Update: I had to do their work and verify my own health insurance making sure this place was in my network.Yes this place was in network. They didn't check to see the other name it fell under as an umbrella. Dr. Gupta is excellent I give him 5 * stars. Billing needs to act as more of a patient advocate and go the extra mile.

Facility was clean and comfortable. Staff was very congenial, professional, and thorough. They explained what they were doing, going to be doing, and what would happen in surgery (cataract). They demonstrated sincere concern for my welfare and all I saw them interact with.

Never having had eye surgery before, my concerns were definitely present. All I can say is that I can't imagine a better appointment. The office staff was professional and courteous with up to date technology. The ladies who took it from there to prepare for surgery couldn't have been better. Thank you Denice, Karen and Ginger (I believe was her name,) you were excellent, friendly and caring! After searching two years for a ophthalmologist I would feel comfortable with, Dr. Akler was well worth the wait. Her expertise is well known and I couldn't have been in better hands.

I cannot say enough good things about this surgical center in Southgate! While preparing for my first cataract surgery, I found the staff incredibly personable and professional. Not to mention very nice! "We'll take good care of you." was their motto, and they did! And the surgeon--whose name I can't pronounce or spell and I can't find his card--was exceptional! He is a true 'miracle worker!' I have scheduled my next appointment for my other eye in a few weeks and am actually looking forward to getting it done! Many kudos to the Southgate Surgery Center! Carry on! Just found the doctor's name: Himanshu Aggarwal! Wonderful doctor! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

My 2nd cataract surgery was a nightmare. The anesthesiologist didn't monitor me well and wasn't even in the room. In spite of expressing very early on that I was too aware, the proceedure continued. I was chemically immobilized but could speak. The response to my objections was simply "stop talking". In between the innane personal conversation of the 2 nurses, I heard one say "get him in here", (meaning the anesthesiologist), more than once. For some reason the doctor's assistant felt the need to tell me when my lens was being removed. I felt dismissed, scared and incredibly vulnerable. Later it explained that sometimes that's how the anetheistic works, which seemed a dull excuse. Perhaps then anethesia needs to be managed differently. I regret this surgery and my choice of doctor and surgery center. Edit: The response to my review simply invalidates my experience. If the CNRA was indeed in the room the entire time, he apparently didn't do his job appropropriately. So glad you've gotten so much high praise.

These people ROCK! I have been here multiple times over the last 10 years and they are still champions. Thank you for treating me so well.
