Family Eye Care of White Lake

Started using Family Eye Care because they were the only locally owned establishment in a 50 mile radius that accepted our insurance. After 3 years, my husband and I chose to go elsewhere for the following reasons: 1) They have a very limited selection of glasses to choose from, 2) they once ordered my husbands glasses with the wrong prescription and didn't realize it until he called to complain that they made him dizzy, 3) they had my husband come back every 3-4 months for Glaucoma testing and billed our medical insurance, we began to suspect they were abusing our insurance because his tests always came back negative, 4) after 2 1/2 years of service, they suddenly sent us a bill for the full cost of the Glaucoma testing. When I called to ask why, they said our insurance wasn't active. I verified my insurance was indeed active and told them to try again. After weeks of going back and forth, I discovered they suddenly started billing our previous medical insurance again, 5) during my first visit, they changed my prescription. On my second visit, I complained about frequent headaches behind my eyes. Their solution was to tell me to stop wearing my glasses because I didn't actually need them?! We went to a different provider this year and he confirmed that the cause of my headaches were likely the prescription because it was too strong. They also said my husband is not showing signs of Glaucoma and they agree that they were probably doing additional testing for additional insurance payouts. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Eye care was good, but billing is terrible. Was lied to about insurance coverage for in network. I was 100 percent covered in network. Talk to your insurance company before using this office.

Family Eye Care of White Lake provides exceptional eye care! My provider diagnosed an eye condition that a prior provider missed. I will ONLY trust this practice with my eye care needs. My provider is exceptional! They always take the time to answer my questions and explain things in a way that I understand, while making my eye care the number one priority. The selection of eyewear is always trendy and professional. The office team is outstanding - always polite, professional and available to answer my questions.

Amazing care during business hours and after hours. Dr. Osborne has been fantastic for all the years I have been seeing her. She also has made her self available off hours in the event of an eye emergency with the same top notch care, welcoming smile and care for not only your eyes, but you as a person. Fantastic resource for the White Lake Community!!

Not knowledgeable about eye care. We have glasses we can't use. Called them about it and said to come back and they would fix them. After going back they still didn't fix the problem. Later found out they tried to charge my medical insurance (because they used up my eye insurance for the first visit). We told them we weren't paying because it was there fault. They sent us to collections. I will never go back to them and I would urge everyone else not to go either.

Best experience ever! Dr. Osborne is amazing! Kind, funny, intelligent, caring. Staff is great and knowledgeable. I didn't like going to the eye doctor until now!

Last time was in they had my eyes dialated then wanted to check my vision with my contacts... that was like backwards. Today asked for my glasses perscription and they told me they could not give it to me??? Is my perscription top secret??? Think its time to move on and find a new eye care

Glasses are unusable. No effort to help you fit frames at all and dismissive of your questions. In over 30 years, thats a first.
