Byrd & Wyandotte Eye Clinic

Arrived at on time for a 10:05 am appointment. Left at 12:30. Spent most of our time waiting in the waiting room, waiting for an eye test and waiting for Dr. Chen. Dr. Chen was excellent. Dr. Byrd is stepping away from this business that is operated by a company (not a private practice) that seems to overbook and make patients wait. Be prepared to wait. The staff was unhelpful when asked about wait time, several having a practiced message that they have NO idea how long things might be. One staff member said that the company controls scheduling. Dr. Chen was very friendly, kind and professional.

Dr. Spiegel and the assistant who helped with the initial exam were actually amazing, the reception staff on the other hand were not too helpful. Unfortunately the person who does the fitting for glasses was not present that day of the exam and it seemed like the staff didn't know what to do. I had to ask them if I had to make another appointment to pick out glasses or if it could be a walk-in and that is when another lady said that an appointment was necessary, not sure why that wasn't offered in the first place. I also called them to make sure the person who does the fitting was present so I wouldn't leave work early for no reason and reception said that wasn't their department and I would have to leave a message. Message was not returned either.

I absolutely adore this doctor, as I was waiting for the doctor to come in and explain what was going on in my eyes I was able to overhear him speaking to another elderly patient. He was just so compassionate and caring , having an eye Doctor who not only is good in his profession, but adds genuine empathy for another patient was beautiful to experience. I am definitely nervous about what my outcome is going to be in my retina, but I can say that his words were soothing in my own situation as well. I have gone to other eye doctors in the past but believe I've found my one and only eye doctor here. Not to mention the building is EPIC in itself. Highly recommend

I only wish the doctor could of looked at my eyes before they squirt lubricant in them because I have dry eye problems and no way can they diagnose it after putting lubricant in my eyes. It's like they prepare you first with dye and lubricant eye drops I think a doctor would be wise to look what is going on first especially with a new patient it only takes a few seconds. Dryness from medication and age is common. Plus they don't take UAW Davis Vision insurance. Although they were very nice people and there clinic was very clean I thought Dr. Price was very caring. They did squeeze me in and I felt the dr was rushed with her scheduled patients. My first time ever having my eyes checked at 68 years old. I would of liked to know if I had any cataracts. I'm updating this review to say that dr. Price knows what she's talking about, she was absolutely right when she told me to seek emergency care because she used a stethoscope and found a carotid artery that was blocked before anyone knew it. I ended up going in and have a serious blockage that could give me a stroke and it needs further attention and somehow it kept going out. An amazingly great eye doctor and I understand a lot more. Dr. Speagle is amazing. Young, hip to the new products out there. I've always been forced to wear hard contact lenses. After getting a new job I wasn't able to wear them anymore. I went 10 years in thick coke bottle glasses. She put me in soft contact lense and I couldn't be happier. Truly changed my life. Thank you again Dr. Hannah Speagle. Keep up the great work!

I have only been here twice. Both times all the employees were very nice. Dr. Price is super! Very friendly and is great with the patient. I am so glad I switched doctors!

I went to this office as a new patient for a diabetic eye exam and wow, what a great experience... aside from them having to shine lights and put drops in my eyes, but obviously that's a requirement for an eye exam, duh! The office is huge and the staff is super friendly. Here are some "extras" that I noticed which made it such a different experience than any other places I've been to. The lighting in the entire office is so warm and soft, which is so welcoming and calming. I've never thought of how such a little adjustment like this could make such a huge difference. However, when you're having your pupils dilated and they become so sensitive, it makes things so much easier! Secondly, Dr. Price... she is just so friendly and welcoming. It was my first time in the office and she introduced herself and asked me about myself, instead of getting right into my eyes! I HIGHLY recommend this office and will see them again for my yearly visits!

Dr Xi (Andy)Chan is top tier.He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in cataract surgeries. He takes his time and explains the process he will be using to correct and remove your cataracts . had him do both eyes 3 weeks apart .I was getting so I could barely see. I was 20/20 the next day for both.Extremely satisfied
