Dr. Byrd and Dr. Price has performed cataract surgery on both of my parents. One was in 2019 and the other in 2025. In both cases the surgery and aftercare was phenomenal. Dr. Byrd always had a joke or story to tell to make the patient comfortable. The staff is exceptional. They are friendly and professional. I highly recommend this facility when needing cataract surgery.

Dr. Byrd is one of the most intelligent ophthalmologist that I have met . I went to Dr. Byrd in October, 2 day's ago because I wanted a second opinion from my , at the time, current Glaucoma specialist. Dr. Byrd is very polite but his intelligence! I tried but I couldn't keep up. Thankfully, they offer you the transcript of what was said! It was the most professional experience with my glaucoma that I have ever had. About Thomas Byrd, MD

Thomas J. Byrd, MD, graduated from Trenton High School in three years as Salutatorian and went on to the University of Michigan where he achieved both Bachelor of Science and Medical Doctor degrees in a special six-year program called Inteflex. He received his medical degree and went on to a year of internal medicine internship and a three-year ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Byrd went on to the finest cornea fellowship in the world, a rigorous two-year program at the Louisiana State University (LSU) Eye Center in New Orleans. He trained there under internationally-known corneal and refractive surgery pioneers, Dr. Herbert E. Kaufman and Dr. Maguerite McDonald.
