I was told I needed cataract surgery in both eyes. My referring Dr. told me I only had a cataract in 1 eye. I thought when I was referred to Dr. Liaboe and they did more tests that he saw a cataract in both eyes. I was happy with my vision after the 1st surgery. Prior to surgery I only needed glasses for distance, and it was getting harder to read the very fine print. After my 2nd surgery I could only see in the distance, and I need to wear glasses full time now. I have purchased several pairs of glasses now and I have struggled severely with the effect it has made on my life. I can't even read my phone without them. I told him of my problems, and I have asked why would you do surgery on a perfectly good eye? His response was normally when I person has 1 cataract, they have will have 2. I could have gone years without ever developing another. There was no apology or remorse whatsoever. I didn't save $ for having both done one after another so there would be absolutely no benefit to having the 2nd one done. Beware! The staff was all very nice I will say, but they really just want your money. I waited a year before I posted this review as I hate to say anything negative; but their lack of concern has left me even more frustrated. They tell you they will call you back and never do.

I'm very grateful for the care I received at Minnesota Eye Consultants. Thank you to Dr. Brettin, Dr. Samual, and the entire team for their excellent care and support. Dr. Brettin did an amazing job before and after my surgery. She is very attentive, patient, and truly listens to her patients. Thanks to their expertise, my surgery was successful, and I felt well cared for throughout the process. Highly recommend Minnesota Eye Consultants.

Had to change insurance companies and needed a letter of exception so I didn't have to pay $850 per month for eye drops. Called three times requesting this be sent to my new insurance company and all I got was "leave a message and we will call you back ". Never received a call back and was never able to talk to anyone and the new insurance company has not received this letter. Time for a new clinic! Edited: Changed from one star to five. Contacted the clinic and this has satisfactorily been resolved.

I had natural lens replacement for both eyes done in July 2025. I'm a nurse so I pay attention to healthcare details and the clinic in Blaine does a terrible job with ensuring that questions are answered and that information is clear, fully provided, and transparent. Most notably, I never received any sort of quote for anesthesia services as I was private paying. To be clear, this happened twice because the eye surgeries were on separate dates. I met with the surgeon and a representative from billing and I'd asked several times if the quotes provided were the full expected cost or if anything wasn't included. This was $12,000 so obviously I was wanting to know of any additional costs. I was repeatedly assured it was the full amount. I did not sign anything indicating I'd been notified of anesthesia services billing separately. To my surprise, five months later, I got a bill for nearly $1700. This is so unethical. I would not recommend this clinic for any services. If you want communication that is upfront, clear, accurate, and transparent it is not what Minnesota Eye Consultants provides.

Dr Dsouza definitely put me at ease during my pre-op exam. His smile, quiet manner and completely explaining everything I needed to know about my upcoming surgery was so beneficial. I appreciate this visit.

Dr. Hansen removed cataracts from both of my eyes and placed stents for early glaucoma at the same time. His skills, knowledge, and bedside manner were top-notch. I give him my highest recommendation. Dr. Fogal was also excellent during my post-op follow up. In addition, the entire staff has been courteous, efficient, and friendly throughout the almost two years I have been a patient at MN-Eye, Blaine. This is a superlative organization from the top down.

I would give this a negative review if that was an option. So I had an appointment at 11:30 and at 12:15 still have not been called back for my follow up appointment. When I asked what was going on I was told to be patient! So sitting for a hour after my appointment time was not patient! Minnesota eye showed me that I DO NOT MATTER AT all! My time does NOT MATTER at all! When I was talking to them about how unprofessional this is and they attempted to Shush me ,when I said well if I was 10 minutes late to an appointment you would cancel it on me, but you think this is acceptable to allow a patient to sit and waste their day away because of what? At the end of the day THEY DO NOT CARE AT ALL about the patient!

I visited Dr Fogel for eye care after I was diagnosed with shingles. Needed be sure the shingles virus had not affected my eyes. Dr Fogel was very professional and understood my concerns. I was given a very thorough exam. I would highly recommend Dr Fogel
