NW suburban eye

I've been going to this office for over 25 years with my latest visit yesterday. While there have been the kinds of changes you'd expect over the that many years, the quality of care has continued to be good. At yesterday's visit, the technician was great as was the optometrist--I've been a patient of hers for a few years now. I truly trust I'm getting good care and advice. Where the visit really fell down and generated this 3-star review is that I was not pleased at all with the interaction when checking in. I was asked to fill out new paperwork--not a problem. One of the forms was about the privacy policy and it explicitly states that I'm agreeing that I've been given a copy of the policy. When I was done signing the forms, I took it back to the person who checked me in and asked for a copy of the policy. The first response was, "there is it" with the person pointing at the copy in a plastic holder. I said, "I just signed a form that acknowledged I'd received a copy." "Well, it's just like the other times you've signed." This was followed by "I don't normally work at this site so I don't know where they are." Eventually, I did get a copy but I gave a great deal of thought to cancelling my appointment and leaving. The discourtesy left a real bad taste in my mouth.
