Dr. Johnston and his staff are absolutely the finest professionals in the twin cities. They are busy as a result, and you wont get better professionals anywhere. So rest assured your needs will be met with the best care.

I've been coming to see Dr. Johnstone for about 9 months now. I wouldn't see anyone else. He's created an amazing space for treatment at his clinic. The front desk staff are amazing. They deal with a lot of chaos on a weekly basis and I can't agree with previous reviews that the staff are disrespectful and rude. I've never had a bad interaction with them. They're lovely people and do an amazing job, dispite having some major setbacks (like an entirely new system to deal with). As far as being "busy", Mondays are always super busy due to the volume of people who come in from the weekend not being able to check in if they're having issues, etc. I've had to wait a few hours to be seen but that's to be expected for a Monday at any specialty clinic. Otherwise I haven't had to wait for more than 30 minutes to be seen. Overall, I highly recommend coming here for your specialty eye needs.

Just returned from my first appointment. Dr Johnston was fantastic. I've read lots of complaints about the office staff but they were great. No waiting. In and out in about 45 minutes.

I read all reviews of ERC, and none of the negative comments (many of which were very dated) applied to my first appointment. Everyone was professional, pleasant, and efficient. The associate who took my initial scan and medical history was great; he noticed my wife was waiting in the lobby, and he asked if I wanted her to join me for the appointment, which was fine, and she appreciated being able to see what was happening. I was very impressed with Dr. Johnston. He was easy to talk to, very thorough in explaining what the scans showed and the proceedures that he recommended, as well as potential side effects. My primary eye doctor, who has been my doctor for over 25 years recommended Dr. Johnston. I needed an injection, and the assistant explained the process very well. The actual injection went flawlessly, and I received a follow up phone call the next day.

Dr. Johnston & the technicians are fantastic, However - the woman at the front desk was rude & snapped at me because I didn't have all of my insurance cards- I don't carry the one with the payment schedule ..I've shown exactly the same card to all of my other physicians with no problem whatsoever & they can see the payment schedule when they run the card. She's just rude. I did not have to wait too long at all. But Dr. Johnston is highly recommended & I can deal with the front desk for excellent care.

Perhaps the work week is not the best time to update/ start and entirely new system. All tech businesses know updates should happen on the weekend and training also should be done beforehand. Tired of medical systems/professional areas touting the importance of the doctors' time but not making logical, common sense decisions like updating not in the middle of the week or training on a system ahead of time. Otherwise they are fine.

While the doctor is very friendly, the front desk staff are just rude and arrogant. i was watching their interaction with patients while i was waiting for my appointment. very disrespectful. My pharmacy tried to contact them over 4 times in a course of one week for clarification, with no answer. I tried to call and every time i stay on hold for over 15 minutes, after several attempts, "Pam" answered and said they don't have time to respond back to the pharmacy, they are busy. so i requested to have the doctor call me, which of course did not happen! If you want to keep your dignity, stay away from this office.

Didn't meet with the specialist until over an hour after the scheduled appointment. Way overbooked for the day and overall just a poor planning effort on their attempt to see as many patients as possible without having the proper staffing or offices to fit that mold.
