M Health Fairview Ophthalmology Clinic

I have had great experiences with MHealth Fairview, my dad recently had a stroke and we wouldn't had gone anywhere but there, I'm thinking the difference is the hospital environment vs. clinics. This specific clinic, their staffs are rude, they do not help you navigate on what and how you're suppose to do things. You could tell they were tired of helping me & wanted to be right and prove me wrong. This is not okay, this is health we're talking about, I'm as worried about my dad as you are about your patient. Have some respect for your community, help navigate them with patience and if you don't, QUIT.

First off, though the description says: 'Located in: M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank', this 'clinic' is on the east bank. The bad address should give you a clue to the professionalism here, besides half the reviews being 1 star. The couple of times I've gone here out of shear convenience of living nearby, I had endless tests I didn't ask for, for which they are notorious as per the reviews. Also a big hospital charge on top of that, although I didn't see any advantage of the hospital part of it on the service provided. You had better be on some sort of public health insurance for this place, and looking at the waiting room crowd of seniors I expect that's typically the case. My recent visit was for blurring vision in one eye. Was given a prescription for drops. I asked about laser treatment for eye pressure (the ducts can be cleared with a laser) and retinal replacement, and was told by doctor Joshua Harlen Olson that the clinic didn't use lasers. No specific explanation, just that he didn't see the need for it. Really? This is the 21st century and they are pushing 1960's hand scalpel care. The only reason I would see going to this 3.1 star clinic before the 4.9 star Edina Eye Clinic would be to experience the vast difference in Minneapolis health care personally. I just wonder if Medicare will cover all those tests again in Edina. The Fairview Medical Records department hasn't given me access to my medical test records despite literally decades of requests on my part.

I have had a terrible experience with billing for this location they kept updating the charge I paid this off a few months ago and just RANDOMLY they updated the insurance coverage information for an insurance I am NO LONGER APART OF and I NO LONGER USE and they just charged me more for a past service. What a scam get your billing correct so your patients don't get sudden surprise bills

My eyes were not straight so I went to Dr. Mcclelland, and he straightened my eyes. I've been going 25 years with my eyes being 20 - 25 degrees off from each other and Now they're straight Like they should be. Wish I would have done that years ago. It's called Strabismus surgery. Parking wasn't great but I did NOT come here for the parking. If the medical treatment is proper like it was, it's worth whatever you have to do to get the care. Not everything is easy but no complaints from me. I'm greatful for the technology and that there's people wanting to do this surgery

I had a fine experience here. Dr. Lee not only addressed my double vision with a new eyeglass prescription, he ordered an MRI to make sure my unusual eyesight wasn't being caused by something more serious. I was relieved to learn that it wasn't something serious. It was a good experience.

My mother was sent to this clinic due to a corneal ulcer and a severe eye infection. The treatment that she received from Dr. Kaufman and the team of residents and fellows was superb. It is a very busy clinic but the service they provide for very complicated eye issues was wonderful.

Waited several months and through a couple absolute miscommunications to be tested only to be tacked on with procedures I didn't ask for and then told I wouldn't be able to get the test I had been waiting almost a year for. This could have been a phone call. Would have cost quite a bit less to tell me you couldn't help me.

I've been fortunate enough to have been followed since I was five by some of the top ophthalmologists in the country, arguably the world. I am now 22 and will recommend the outstanding and top of the line care provided by the U eye clinic. During the years of my care here, I have never felt afraid or worried about what the future holds for me given my comprised visual status. I know I'm in good hands and that's something that simply cannot be felt elsewhere, at least for me.
