Owl Optical

I had a wonderful experience at Owl Optical. I am a Pickleball player and was in need of protective glasses for both indoor and outdoor play. Staff were so helpful in answering questions and setting me up with a perfect pair of glasses that work great in both environments. I got progressive lenses so I can see the ball close up but also across the court. The lens is a very high quality protective material. And what I also love is that the padded nose piece is just the right amount of padding ... it doesn't push the lens away from your face and thereby you don't see the frame when looking out. There are vents on the sides, which help prevent the lens from fogging up during play. The pair I got at Owl Optical meets all of the requirements I had. And the staff are very friendly and helpful!

I had a lovely experience at Owl Optical! I love my new glasses and they really focused on every detail to make the glasses fit perfectly. My eye exam was easy-peasy and I also got my first pair of contacts here. They were beyond patient, kind, and helpful as I got acclimated to them. Would highly recommend them to all!

So glad I found this place! I'd been on the hunt for glasses for my low bridge and was getting tired haha. Owl Optical has three brands for people with low bridges! It was so nice to try on glasses that actually fit me! The owners were both so helpful and nice, I'd never had such a friendly and informative glasses shopping experience. They really care about having glasses for everyone. I found a great pair of frames that I'm excited to wear once they're ready!

I love my glasses from Owl Optical! The whole experience was great. I was feeling overwhelmed about getting my first pair of progressive lenses, but Julie was so helpful and made it actually fun!

I had a great experience when Owl was in St Paul and followed them to their Minneapolis store for new glasses. Ashley chose a pair of frames that were perfect. When I had a concern about the frame after I had them for a few days, she worked her magic and exchanged the original frame for one that met my expectations. Great customer service, my glasses fit, and it is so easy to focus even with a complicated prescription. It was worth the drive!

Just go, you won't regret it for a second and you'll never go to another optical shop again - I know I haven't! For years, I searched the area for a great optical shop. I've tried nearly all the well known and many of the lesser known ones. Then about 10 years ago, I found Owl Optical and I've never had to look anywhere else again. The staff is amazing - extremely knowledgeable, super helpful, and friendly as can be. I feel more like an old friend or family when I'm there and I 100% believe that they want long term customers with whom they can build real relationships - not just to sell you something like so many other shops in the area. They've really helped guide me to frames that I would not have picked on my own, but which I've been the happiest with that I've ever been with how my frames look, feel, and perform. Then there's their selection which IMO is far above anywhere else I've gone in terms of uniqueness, quality, and style. They even have special "asian-fit" frames (I'm not asian, so I can't really speak about those in detail) and are super accommodating of whatever special needs or issues you might have. They have frames that are locally made as well as frames from smaller, more boutique vendors, and some of the most prestigious global brands as well. Their expertise on lens selection is one of the other things that won me over as a loyal client. They introduced me to the various types of progressive lenses and when I found "digital" progressives I've never gone back to the old kind that all the other shops in town sold me. Prices at Owl Optical are also really competitive, but I would happily pay more for their service, knowledge, and simply knowing that I'm going to be happy as heck with whatever I get. It might also be worth mentioning that they have on on-site optometrist and my prescriptions have been super accurate. No issues like I've had elsewhere in the past. What else can I say? Owl Optical is simply the best optical shop I've ever found. I won't be going anywhere else as long as they're around!

I absolutely LOVED this store. Ashley was super friendly and kind, very patient with me having no clue what I wanted, extremely knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. She took great care to explain why certain frames might be a better or worse choice, as well as going over my options, and making sure that I was comfortable with (and excited about!) my purchase and that I didn't feel pressured. I also LOVE that as a point of policy and pride they DO NOT stock any Luxottica-owned brands (and that their lenses are made in Duluth! yay local businesses!). The price was a little more than I was hoping to pay because they were out of network for me (the doctor who did my eye exam was in-network, so that was covered), and because I had been planning to purchase glasses that weren't as nice... but Ashley made sure to be very clear that it was okay if I just got the exam and came back when I was a little more flush to purchase glasses, or that I could pay for the frames and then wait to purchase the lenses, or that a payment plan was a possibility (bearing in mind obviously that the balance would need to be completely paid before the lenses were ordered!). She also took A TON of time to find a wide selection of frames she thought might fit my face (seriously, probably around 30 options), with almost all of them being from their clearance, and then talked me through each pair. I don't think I'll buy glasses from anywhere else!!

I have a very strong prescription and astigmatism so it's hard to find lenses that work for me. This is the first place where I found lenses that are perfect! Plus, the variety of upscale frames to choose from is remarkable. I'm a tough eyeglass customer, but if Owl Optical can satisfy me, they can satisfy anyone!
