Excellent service! The general manager who helped me was So helpful and answered ALL questions. The doctor was great and efficient, and made sure to perfect my prescription. Love my new glasses. Definitely won't go anywhere else. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Very accommodating, and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great doctor! He explained thoroughly throughout the eye exam and spent the time needed to get my prescription correct. Definitely the reason to choose this store. Front staff was welcoming - although their computer system looked and acted like something from the 80s. Easily ordered lenses, staff handled order, shipping, insurance, etc.

Not sure if there was different employees last year causing the bad reviews but everyone at the front is really friendly, especially the manager! Glasses were ready fairly fast and the whole process was simple. Only issue I had is that I was wanting sunglasses and one of the employees recommended shade 1. When I initially picked up the glasses you could barely tell they were sunglasses because the shade was so light, but it should of been my responsibility to ask how light the shade was in the first place. Anyway, Ashley the manager darkened them and added different tints to suit the color I was looking for which was really nice of her- plus it only took two extra days. Ignore the bad reviews and just make sure to ask the right questions when you're there and you'll be golden!

I just moved to Minneapolis from Texas so I can't compare Visionworks locally. But, compared to every.single.optical place. this. is. the. best service I have ever received. Ashley, the general manager is beyond helpful. She told me things about my vision plan that I have never known and I have had the same plan for the past six years! I am so lucky that I gave this place a chance because I won't ever have to look for another optical place again!

Let me first say that if no stars were an option, this review would have no stars. When I went to buy glasses, Emily, the salesperson, only offered me the most expensive lenses and I had to insist that there must be something less expensive. She grudgingly admitted that there were two lower priced lens options but she wouldn't recommend them for my prescription. Once I had convinced her that I wanted an inexpensive lens and fame, she left me to wander as she helped other customers that she apparently felt were better targets for up-selling. Well, I returned to the store today because I had issues with the 2 pairs of glasses I had purchased. The regular glasses needed to have the nose pads adjusted and that went just fine. The sunglasses however were a different story. No matter how I dipped or lifted my chin or how high up in the lenses Ii looked, I could not see clearly. The lenses made me nauseous to have them on longer than a minute or two. The first lady that helped me was very helpful. She checked the prescription in the glasses against my Rx and she even had the Doctor double check to make sure she was correct. The prescription matched. She then marked the optical center of the lenses with a dot. Since she was new, the Doctor suggested that Emily, the person I had worked with previously, should mark the optical center of my pupil on the lenses and they would re-make the lenses. Instead of Emily marking my lenses, she started over from the beginning by tweaking and torqueing, the frame and nose pads. None of her adjustments improved my vision through the glasses. When I tried to convince her that I still couldn't see clearly, she said the lenses were made exactly right. She was more concerned about being right than she was about my ability to see clearly. At one point she inferred that I wouldn't have had this problem if I had purchased the more expensive lenses. Another time she said that maybe the frame was too wide for my head. On and on it went. She was right and I must be imagining things. She had a need to be right at any expense. After a while it got to be insulting. She was so busy being right that she didn't even bother compare the optical center of the lens with the center of my pupil. Had she done this she would have seen that they were misaligned by about 1/4". We came to an impasse where she refused to re-make the lenses and I was unwilling to accept a pair of glasses that I couldn't see through so I asked for my money back and left vowing never to return. Even "buy one get one free "isn't a good deal because of the aggravation. I have had warmer and more honest dealings with used car salesmen.

I was experiencing severe vertigo issues, among other health alternative care I am doing. I also stopped in to see Dr. Eggers for an eye exam. My prescription hadn't changed enough to warrant a new prescription, however, after consulting with Dr. Eggers a second time we came to the conclusion that I wasn't a good candidate for my progressive/transition lenses. So after much deliberation Ashley the store manager and Dr. Eggers took the time to design specific lenses for me, for driving and for my work/everyday glasses. They spent hours with me knowing this was serious as I hadn't been able to drive for 2 weeks. Ashley picked perfect glasses for me, their selection is tremendous (thought I'd change it up) with a specific tint for driving in the daytime. I can't express the care and attention to detail they provided. I'm on the mend and driving again. I'm very grateful for all they have done for me. I highly recommend Calhoun Visionworks, and have been spreading the word for this great team and their enthusiasm to provide great care. With gratitude, Jaymes

Man oh man. Called regarding an eye exam I had previously received here due to lack of knowledge regarding eye exams. The lady was at first receptive and wanting to help me understand my prescription. She then asks "wait, are you ordering glasses online," which I was and is irrelevant from what I was looking to discuss with her. I was then informed that, "It is not my job to help you order glasses online,'" which I'm fully aware of. But not at any point was asking to help me order glasses online. I was asking about an eye exam that I had taken at this exact location due to something I didn't understand. She was unbelievably rude, nasty and aggressive.

I suggest you read all the reviews, and then, once you know what you're getting into, you can actually shape how your experience will be. I have been going here for years out of convenience. It is not the best staff, but if you make sure to ask the right questions, you will get the right answers and you will save yourself a headache. For instance, I just called today, don't know who I spoke to, and I asked if I could come in to get contacts. The answer was, "yes." However, I knew better, so I asked, "Is there an ophthalmologist working today?" The answer was, "No. Do you need an eye exam?" My response was, "Yes I do. Can I please make an appointment for this coming Saturday?" The woman said, "let's see" and then gave me the time they had available. My suggestion is to realize the people working the front store are not professionals when it comes to customer service, so be assertive and professional, and you will get what you need. GOOD LUCK :)
