I needed a few days to process my experience at America's Best on February 27, 2026 at 3:20 PM, and unfortunately it was extremely disappointing.
When I arrived, the appointment initially seemed normal. However, once I was brought to the back for pre-testing, there was a very strong odor in the room that made me feel physically ill. I was then asked to use several testing machines that were visibly dirty, with noticeable makeup and grease marks on the equipment. None of the equipment appeared to have been wiped down before I used it, which was very concerning from a hygiene standpoint.
After that, I was taken to another room for the remote optometrist portion of the exam. The employee struggled to connect to the optometrist and attempted multiple times (at least six) before finally getting it to work after calling for help. This added a significant delay and made the experience feel very disorganized.
During this time, the employee also left the room and returned while eating something, bringing a strong odor back into the room that again made it difficult to sit comfortably during the appointment.
After the exam concluded--about an hour after I arrived--I went back to the main lobby. Two employees at the front desk were standing there but did not acknowledge or assist me until I asked where I should go next. Eventually, another employee named Bette noticed that no one was helping and kindly paused what she was doing to assist me. She was the only person during the visit who showed professionalism and customer care, and I appreciated her stepping in.
While she was helping me, the other two employees nearby were loudly discussing explicit topics that were completely inappropriate for a public business setting. This made the environment feel extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional.
Overall, the experience felt unhygienic, disorganized, and inappropriate for a healthcare setting. I would strongly encourage management to review cleanliness standards, staff professionalism, and customer service expectations at this location.
I was here a few months ago. I'm writing the review now because I was told (by somebody not affiliated with the store) to see if I "get used" to my new glasses.
First, I'd like to say that everyone working at the store was absolutely AMAZING. The employees were nothing but helpful and kind. And this has always been my experience with this America's Best. I want that to be clear. In NO way should this reflect poorly on them.
However, the "telehealth" doctor left something to be desired. He was very short, like I was wasting his time, but more than that, I complained that during the "figuring out your prescription" phase that something was wrong because the choices were getting worse and he said thats "just how it works." I'm 46. I've had glasses my whole life. I'm no optometrist, but it's not my first time doing this. If a 40 something year old brings up an issue, don't treat them like they are five.
And because of his broken equipment, now I'm stuck with glasses that are just a touch too strong for me. I complained, he wrote me off, I (begrudgingly) trusted his expertise, and now I'm stuck with jank glasses for God knows how long. (They're fine for almost everything, but I get nauseous while reading or on my phone). I guess it's partly fault for not pushing harder.
I guess next time either Costco or Walmart will get my business. It's too bad too. Because I love the experience at America's Best. The people are great. But until they get doctors in the building, I won't go near it.
Broke my glasses by accident, called here and they got me a same day appointment to get a fresh eye exam and two new pairs of glasses for about 90 dollars. They also provided free contacts to use between now and my new glasses arriving. Kind and helpful staff.
Their service was excellent. Karn said my glasses will ve done within 16 days, but within 7 days I got notification thats my glasses ready. Karn gave me the best option about glasses, she is awesome. The technician, Beth was funny, we talked about how lucky her family when hurricane in past during wait the doctor. Price is affordable, $600 for 2 glasses with transission, that's good price with good quality. I reccommend this place for your vision.
All the staff were great! Shout out to Bret for fixing my current glasses until my new ones come in & for explaining everything to me clearly!
My visit was great , Karla was great at her job . My complaint is that it's been three weeks since ordering . Last Wed I received a call from a store in Miami telling me my glasses were ready for pickup, I live in mpls. Called your store and was told everything was fine and glasses would be ready on 15th . Today I had to call Miami store myself to figure out that y'all completely canceled an order I paid for ! The manager in Miami is fantastic for finding these thing out . Fingers crossed I get my 650 dollars worth of glasses soon . Last time I'll buy glasses here .
