Such kind and helpful staff. Walked in at 8am without an appointment with an injury. Walked out 1.5hrs later! The doctor even sent me a text with a discount for the prescription needed.
My first experience with Eye Associates Of Central MN & Eye Associates Optical.
If you are a germaphobe this is the place for you!
Jody is a very pleasant & helpful Receptionist!
Has a container for clean pens, and another for pens that have been used & need cleaning!
Optometrist Assistant; Ashley, is very detail oriented, and has a delightful personality!
She sterilized everything that I had been in contact with, as soon as we were done with each mechanical device!
Dr Melanie Thares, OD is also very detail oriented, and pleasant!
Each of the above are quite knowledgeable.
Communication between; Receptionists, Doctor, and the Associates Optical; Rachel, is excellent!
Rachel used diagrams, and charts, to show & explain the difference between options of lense materials, and frame quality.
I was hesitant about metal frames, which I tend to break.
So I opted for the flexible titanium frames, that they offer.
I did not feel rushed at all, unlike my experience with America's Best Eye glasses.
I had several questions, as I need prism lenses;
Rachel & Dr. Thares communicated in depth, to be sure my new RX is the best for me.
I am very pleased with every one I dealt with!
I plan to continue to have them as part of my Care Team!!
Went in to talk about light sensitivity after they told me they could help me. The doctor proceeds to gaslight me by saying she can't find a reason for my light sensitivity that I've had since I was born. Didn't even make a recommendation. Total clown show. Thieves. Should file a complaint with the state board. Don't tell me you can help me and then gaslight me. Total negligence.
Honestly a little frustrated with the clinic. Everyone was very nice but that doesn't make up for the fact that they didn't take me seriously. I went in because I woke up suddenly with blurry Vision that eventually caused eye pain. I normally have perfect vision and never had any issues with my eyes in the past. They ran some tests and tried to say I have dry eyes and an astigmatism. The pain got worse the following day. It's a good thing I listened to my gut and scheduled an appointment with a different clinic because he found that I have inflammation in my cornea and needed to be prescribed steroid eye drops. If I would have waited and listened to the first clinic then who knows what could have happened. I don't even know for sure if my vision will return back to normal. If it doesn't I will be stuck with glasses which isn't that bad. I am just very thankful I can still see. I won't be returning to this clinic ever again.
When I started wearing contacts at 18 my mother referred me to Eye Surgeons and Physicians. If you were fortunate enough to be a patient there you are aware of the expertise, professionalism and care you experienced at that clinic. Now, at 69, I have found that same level of expertise, professionalism and care at Eye Associates of Central Minnesota. The Doctor and staff are professional, knowledgeable, thorough, patient, friendly and kind. With two emergencies I had, they attended to my needs within an hour. I am most appreciative of their concern and care.
Dr. Gossman has done an excellent job with my cataract surgeries and I am well satisfied with his work. However, the technician who performed my routine eye exam gave me a grossly incorrect prescription. I suffered several months with the wrong eyeglasses, being told that "it takes awhile for eyes to adjust". I finally went to another eye doctor for another exam. I ended up paying for the new exam and new lenses. Eye Associates refused any compensation for their mistake. Beware.
Just to be clear, I did return to their office (even though they "have no record of it ") to let them know about my difficulty in seeing with these glasses. They told me that the lenses were made incorrectly. That is why I sought re-examination with a different professional.
I am amazed that Eye Associates won't rectify their mistake.
Dr. Gossman has been my ophthalmologist for approximately 20 yrs. I have had many procedures relating to correcting nearsightedness, cataract surgery, treatment of glaucoma, eye infections and routine examinations. Aside from his medical knowledge & skillfulness, he is a compassionate and personable doctor. During my early years, he was generous to provide me free prescription samples for needed medications. I highly recommend him for your eye care issues.
I got referred to Dr. Gossman about a year ago from my eye doctor and I didn't have the greatest experience. The wait times are horrible for a simple visit and the doctor and other employees are not very nice. It felt like the doctor just ignored everything I said.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago and my eye doctor sends me to this place again. I don't have health insurance right now so I didn't want to go to a specialist because it's expensive. She insists that I need to be seen. So they call to make the appointment and I needed to pay $150 upfront at my appointment. The money thing isn't that big of an issue.
I get to the appointment and they call me back. They check my eyes and have me go to another room to check my field of vision. I waited probably 20 minutes in that room. While all of this is happening, I'm missing work. Then they dilate my eyes and send me back to the exam room and say the doctor will be in shortly. I waited FOR 50 minutes in this room without an update or anything.
The doctor finally comes in and he wasn't very nice and seemed very arrogant. He does a quick look at my eyes and says nothing is wrong and that my eye doctor was mistaken about my eyes.
It's just frustrating that they require $150 upfront at the appointment for an appointment I didn't even need and I waited a total of 2 hours for.
Other people might enjoy it here, but I don't. I will be making sure my eye doctor sends me elsewhere if need be in the future.
